Job Description:

Parsons is seeking an experienced Depot Manager to oversee maintenance operations for a major freight rail program.

What You'll Be Doing

• Manage the day-to-day operations of the rail maintenance depot, including workshops, storage yards, maintenance areas, and supporting facilities.

• Coordinate all maintenance activities for rolling stock, track equipment, systems components, and depot facilities in alignment with operational plans.

• Ensure strict adherence to rail safety procedures, maintenance standards, and approved work instructions.

• Develop and implement depot operational plans, maintenance schedules, and resource allocation frameworks.

• Oversee performance of depot staff, subcontractors, and maintenance teams, ensuring high-quality workmanship and compliance with KPIs.

• Coordinate with operations, engineering, systems, and logistics teams to ensure seamless integration between depot activities and overall network requirements.

• Monitor depot inventory, spare parts, tools, and equipment for availability and proper control.

• Support asset management processes, including inspections, lifecycle monitoring, and reporting.

• Lead daily briefings, toolbox talks, and coordination meetings to align maintenance teams on priorities and risks.

• Manage depot performance reporting, documentation, audits, and compliance reviews.

• Promote continuous improvement, operational excellence, and a strong safety culture across all depot functions.

What Required Skills You'll Bring

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, or related technical discipline.

• Minimum 10 years of experience in rail operations, rail maintenance, or major transportation/industrial maintenance facilities, including freight rail environments.

• Experience as a Depot Manager or similar leadership role on a major rail or transportation project of comparable scale.

• Strong expertise in depot operations, maintenance planning, and O&M management systems.
