Job Description:

Parson’s finance organization is seeking a results driven FP&A lead to oversee financial planning, forecasting, and strategic analysis for our ~$3B Defense & Intelligence business unit. This position plays a critical role in driving financial performance, supporting executive decision-making, and aligning financial strategy with long-term business objectives in a highly regulated & mission-critical environment.

The D&I FP&A lead will be responsible for both analytical and strategic tasks. Key analytical tasks include business level forecasting, budgeting, and long-range planning, develop & maintain complex financial models to support scenario planning, revenue forecasting, and profitability analysis across the business, and perform detailed variance analysis – helping identify key drivers and communicate actionable insights to leadership. From a strategic perspective, this role is expected to serve as a strategic advisor to the business finance VP & others within the D&I leadership team. Additionally, help support business case analysis for key investments across the business including business development and provide guidance to sector level FP&A leads. Additionally, the role may also provide M&A related analysis/support integration efforts. This role will have interaction and visibility to segment & corporate leaders helping support and participate in various financial and business reviews.

The ~$2B portfolio spans a diverse clientele of U.S. Federal Government agencies, and various contract types including firm fixed price, time and materials, cost-plus fixed fee, and cost-plus award fee. This position includes providing financial support, guidance, and expertise to the various stakeholders across the business.

Reporting to the D&I VP of Finance, this position requires the successful candidate to

  • Lead annual budgeting, quarterly forecasting and long-range planning cycles
  • Build & maintain financial models for scenario planning & business performance
  • Conduct variance analysis & R&O tracking
  • Partner with Sector FP&A/Finance leads to analyze business performance/margins
  • Prepare executive level financial reports, presentations, and other business review materials
  • Support strategic initiatives including investment cases
  • Deliver insights on customer trends, backlog, profitability, cash
  • Drive financial process improvements & enhance FP&A tool capabilities
  • Contribute to M&A analysis and other business elements as needed to the D&I leadership team

Qualifications:

  • US Citizen
  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Finance, Accounting or Business Administration
  • A minimum 10-15 years of experience in a financial capacity, preferably in the U.S. Federal Government contractor space. Minimum of 5 years management experience.
  • Emphasizes collaboration, openness, cooperation, and support to team members.
  • Strong communication skills, able to build trust with the Business Unit and Sector executive leadership team, directorates and program managers as well as corporate leadership.
  • Verifiable track record of leading, mentoring and developing a seasoned finance team.
  • Demonstrates flexibility in providing data in varying formats to suit user needs, experienced developing online dashboard information systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced environment, recognizing the importance of relationship building and professionalism in interacting with senior management and staff.
  • Demonstrate strong federal finance and accounting experience, including FAR, CAS, and certified cost or pricing data.
  • Highly proficient with Costpoint, Excel and other MS Office business software.

Salary Range: $144,800.00 - $260,600.00
