Job Description:

Parsons is seeking an experienced Database Architect to design, implement, and optimize our database infrastructure.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in database design, performance tuning, and integration, ensuring that our systems are scalable, reliable, and secure.

This role will work closely with developers, data engineers, and business stakeholders to support enterprise data solutions and drive strategic initiatives.

 

What You'll Be Doing:

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable and high-performance database architectures.  
• Optimize database structures for efficiency, performance, and scalability.  
• Establish and enforce database best practices, security policies, and compliance standards.  
• Collaborate with software developers to ensure seamless data integration across applications.  
• Implement and maintain database backup, recovery, and high-availability solutions.  
• Monitor and troubleshoot database performance issues, proactively optimizing queries and indexes.  
• Evaluate and recommend emerging database technologies and cloud solutions.  
• Develop and document data models, schemas, and database workflows.  
• Support ETL processes and data pipelines for efficient data movement and transformation.  
• Work with stakeholders to define data governance and data management strategies.  
   

What Required Skills You'll Bring:

• Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.  
• 10 years of experience in database architecture, design, and administration.  
• Strong expertise in SQL, NoSQL, and relational database management systems (RDBMS)** such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQL Server, or Oracle.  
• Proficiency in data modeling, indexing, partitioning, and query optimization. 

What Desired Skills You'll Bring:

• Experience with modern data architectures, microservices, and event-driven systems.  
• Hands-on experience with NoSQL databases (MongoDB etc.).  
• Understanding of AI/ML data pipelines and data lake achitectures.  
• Certifications in database technologies (e.g., AWS Certified Database Specialist, Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator).

Salary Range: 

$117,000.00 - $210,600.00
