Job Description:

Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Security Operations Intern to join our team! In this role, under direct supervision, you will support and works with all teams inside the Security Operations Center (SOC) playing a role in supporting the security operations of the organization. You will work closely with Security Analysts. Primary responsibilities include monitoring security systems, identifying vulnerabilities, analyzing security incidents, and assisting in the implementation of security measures.

Specific Responsibilities:
- Applies security best practices to ensure the protection of sensitive data and systems.
- Assists in monitoring and analyzing security events and alerts to identify potential threats or vulnerabilities.
- Contributes to the implementation and maintenance of security systems, tools, and technologies.
- Assists in performing vulnerability assessments.
- Supports the investigation and resolution of security incidents or breaches.
- Collaborates with all security teams to ensure the integration of security measures throughout the organization.
- Stays up to date with the latest cybersecurity trends, threats, and technologies.
- Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.

- Desired: Knowledge of or experience in one of the following: operating systems like Windows or Linux, general networking and infrastructure fundamentals, or cybersecurity fundamentals

Education and Typical Experience:
- Bachelor's Degree Education in Computer Security, Computer Science, or another closely related IT discipline
- 1+ years experience in general information technology (IT)

Licenses and Certifications:
- CompTIA Network+ Certification Preferred
- CompTIA Security+ Certification Preferred

Salary Range: $29.95 - $52.40
