Job Description:

Parsons is seeking an experienced and highly skilled CAD/BIM Engineer with a minimum of 10 years of professional experience to join our team in KSA. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in advanced CAD and BIM software, a strong background in large-scale infrastructure projects, and the ability to lead and ensure the quality and integrity of digital design data. This role is crucial for integrating design and construction data across multiple disciplines for this iconic project.

Key Responsibilities

  • BIM Management & Strategy: Lead the implementation, enforcement, and governance of BIM Execution Plans (BEP) and CAD standards across various design packages, ensuring compliance with NEOM and Parsons project requirements.

  • Model Coordination & Clash Detection: Perform advanced model aggregation, clash detection, and resolution using industry-leading tools (e.g., Navisworks, Solibri). Facilitate interdisciplinary coordination meetings to resolve design conflicts efficiently.

  • Data Quality Assurance: Develop and implement Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) procedures for all CAD and BIM deliverables, ensuring data accuracy, consistency, and adherence to project information requirements (PIRs).

  • Content Creation & Management: Oversee the creation, maintenance, and distribution of standardized BIM libraries (families, objects) and CAD blocks/templates. Ensure all content is correctly classified and geo-referenced.

  • Digital Workflow Integration: Collaborate with design teams, construction managers, and IT to integrate CAD/BIM data with other project management systems (e.g., GIS, 4D/5D scheduling, asset management platforms).

  • Mentorship & Training: Provide technical guidance, support, and training to junior staff and project team members on CAD/BIM software, best practices, and project standards.

  • Reporting & Deliverables: Generate reports on model status, coordination progress, and key BIM metrics. Manage the compilation and handover of final project models and data for operations and maintenance (O&M) purposes.

Required Qualifications & Experience

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Structural), Architecture, Construction Management, or a related field.

  • Experience: A minimum of 10 years of demonstrable, hands-on experience in a CAD/BIM lead, management, or senior engineering role, preferably on large-scale, complex infrastructure or mega-projects (rail, tunnels, high-rise, urban development). Experience in the Middle East is a plus.

  • Software Proficiency (Expert Level):

    • BIM Authoring: Autodesk Revit (Architecture, Structure, MEP)

    • Coordination/Review: Autodesk Navisworks Manage (Clash Detection essential)

    • CAD: AutoCAD and Civil 3D

    • Data Management: Common Data Environment (CDE) platforms (e.g., Bentley ProjectWise, Autodesk BIM 360/ACC).

  • Standards Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of international BIM standards (e.g., ISO 19650 series) and their practical application.

  • Skills: Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills (written and verbal) for coordinating complex technical information across multidisciplinary teams.

  • Project Lifecycle: Proven experience managing CAD/BIM deliverables throughout the full project lifecycle, from conceptual design through construction and handover.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Professional certification in BIM (e.g., PMP, LEED, or specific software certification).

  • Experience with other relevant software like Bentley MicroStation, OpenBuildings Designer, or Dynamo/Grasshopper for computational design.

  • Familiarity with GIS integration and linear infrastructure (The Line context).
