Job Description:

Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Electrical Infrastructure BIM Lead to join our team! In this role you will get to work as a BIM Lead for Power (HV/MV/LV), Street Lighting, and Telecommunication Networks.

What You'll Be Doing:

Specialized BIM Model Creation and Management:

• Developing Detailed 3D Model Standards: Creating accurate and information-rich 3D models of all dry utility networks, including conduits, cables, ducts, poles, transformers, manholes, handholes, lighting fixtures, security devices, and associated hardware.  
• Maintaining Discipline-Specific BIM Standards: Ensuring adherence to project BIM Execution Plans (BEPs), client requirements, and relevant dry utility industry standards and best practices for modeling these specific systems.  
• Creating and Managing Dry Utility BIM Content: Developing and maintaining libraries of parametric BIM objects (families) that accurately represent dry utility components with the necessary attributes and data.  
• Integrating Dry Utility Models: Federating their discipline-specific models with architectural, structural, MEP, and wet utility models to create a comprehensive project model.
• Data Enrichment: Embedding relevant data (e.g., voltage, cable type, material specifications, manufacturer information) into the BIM elements for analysis, asset management, and lifecycle purposes.
• Generating Dry Utility Drawings and Schedules: Extracting discipline-specific 2D plans, profiles, sections, details, cable schedules, equipment schedules, and other documentation directly from the 3D model.
• Ensuring Model Quality: Conducting rigorous quality checks on the dry utility models for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with standards.

Focused Coordination and Clash Management:

• Leading Dry Utility Coordination Meetings: Facilitating coordination meetings specific to dry utility systems, ensuring all stakeholders understand the spatial requirements and constraints.
• Performing Advanced Clash Detection: Running clash detection analysis specifically focused on identifying conflicts within the dry utility systems and between dry utilities and other disciplines (e.g., wet utilities, roads, landscape).
• Collaborating on Clash Resolution: Working closely with electrical engineers, telecommunications engineers, security consultants, and other discipline BIM engineers to analyze and resolve identified clashes effectively.
• Managing Changes and Revisions: Updating the dry utility models based on design changes and ensuring all stakeholders are informed of revisions.

Dry Utility BIM Implementation and Support

• Implementing Dry Utility BIM Workflows: Assisting in establishing and implementing BIM workflows tailored to the specific needs of dry utility design and coordination.
• 10 - 15 years of experience.
• Providing Dry Utility BIM Expertise: Serving as the subject matter expert for BIM within the dry utilities team, providing guidance and support to other team members.  
• Developing Dry Utility Specific Templates and Standards: Contributing to the development of project-specific and potentially company-wide BIM templates and standards for dry utility modeling.
