Job Description:
Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Assistant Project Manager - Saudi National to join our team! In this role you will responsible for the administration of all phases of assigned projects from authorization to proceed to user acceptance, ensuring completion within the established budget, schedule, under specified contractual obligations.
What You'll Be Doing:
Coordinates compilation of Request for Proposal (RFP) for the design portion of the assigned project. Coordinates definition of detailed scope of work determines major milestones and recommends appropriate pricing policy for projects. Coordinates RFP preparation with departments associated with the projects, reviewing inputs and making necessary amendments.
Assists in the technical evaluation of potential bidders for design contracts and recommends short lists of qualified contractors. Obtains client approval for completed RFPs and bidder shortlists.
Participates in the evaluation of bids received, and in recommending the selection of Contractor.
Participates in final negotiations to determine the final terms of the contract.
Coordinates with A/E contractors and dedicated personnel in providing technical information regarding progress, schedule and cost performance, and ensuring A/E contractor conforms with terms and conditions of contract.
Reports on major problem situations which could result in cost overruns or delays in schedules.
Advises contractor of any changes (design or construction) requested by the client.
Initiates Contract Modification Request (CMR) justifying changes, and, as required, obtains approved Letter of Instruction for the contractor to proceed on necessarily limited portions. Coordinates compilation of Change Orders and participates in negotiating final terms of Change Order.
Serves as liaison between various Departments.
Determines necessary optional services and manages their performance. Issues required Call Letters to A/E contractors when optional services cannot be performed by project staff.
Performs similar pre-award activities for the construction portion of the project as were done for the design portion.
Makes presentations on his projects to upper Management and Director-General when required.
What Required Skills You'll Bring:
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related field from recognized University.
Minimum 6 years of experience in project management on construction or engineering projects.
Good Knowledge of Construction and Engineering processes.
A Certification as a Project Management Professional (PMP) is preferred.
What Desired Skills You'll Bring:
Good knowledge of using Microsoft Office products, including Access, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and primavera is required.
Excellent command and communication skills and oral and written English Language skills.
Ability to organize and manage tasks.
