Job Description:

Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Assistant Mechanic to join our team! The Assistance Mechanic must be willing to deploy on a long-term assignment to Kwajalein Island, Marshall Islands. This position is not a remote support opportunity.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Parsons is seeking candidates for a Assistant Mechanic who provides support to mechanics in various tasks related to vehicle and equipment maintenance and repair. This role involves assisting with routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and more complex repairs, while also ensuring a clean and organized workspace.
• Assisting with Repairs: Mechanic assistants help mechanics with a wide range of tasks, including diagnosing problems, disassembling and reassembling parts, and replacing components.
• Performing Routine Maintenance: This includes tasks like oil changes, tire rotations, brake inspections, and fluid level checks.
• Maintaining the Work Area: Keeping the shop clean, organized, and safe is a crucial part of the job.
• Handling Parts and Tools: This involves fetching parts, cleaning tools, and ensuring they are readily available for the mechanics.
• Following Safety Procedures: Mechanic assistants are expected to adhere to all safety guidelines and protocols.
• Communication and Collaboration: Effectively communicating with mechanics and other team members is essential for efficient workflow.
• Customer Interaction: In some cases, they may provide updates on service progress to customers.

Skills and Qualifications:

• Knowledge and ability to create and maintain cordial and collaborative working relationships with external stakeholders and clients.
• Must have a valid Class driver’s license.
• Must be able to effectively follow and give directions.
• Solid written and oral communication skills. Bi-Lingual, English & Tagalog, is idea.

Education, Experience, & Licensing Requirements:

• 2 years overall experience minimum with at least 3 years in the field or similar.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Vocational Diploma/Certification of Completion a plus.

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds to an overhead position.
• Must be able to push and pull up to 50 pounds.
• Must be able to sit or stand for long periods of time.
• Able to work dayshift or nightshift.
• Exposure to working outdoors in all-weather condition.
• Ability to Relocate: Kwajalein Atoll, Marshall Islands.
• Must wear appropriate PPE when performing tasks.
• Wear long pants, shirt that covers the shoulders by six (6) inches, and steel toe work boots, including prescription safety glasses. These are not provided by Parsons.
• Ability to speak and read English.
