Job Description:
Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Area Contract Manager to join our team! In this role you will get to oversee all aspects of contract management for large-scale infrastructure projects, ensuring that contracts are properly executed and managed within a specified geographic area. The role requires a deep understanding of contract law, excellent negotiation skills, and experience managing contractors to ensure compliance, performance, and successful project delivery. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in the construction or infrastructure sector, particularly in airport development or similar large-scale projects.
What You’ll Be Doing:
Contract Management & Oversight:
Oversee all contractual agreements and activities for projects within the designated area, ensuring that contracts are executed according to legal and company standards.
Manage the entire contract lifecycle, from drafting and negotiating terms to finalizing agreements and ensuring compliance throughout the project.
Monitor contractor performance to ensure they are adhering to contract terms, including quality, deadlines, and budget.
Address and resolve contract-related disputes, changes, or issues, ensuring that all parties are in alignment and objectives are met.
Stakeholder Communication & Coordination:
Serve as the main point of contact for clients, contractors, and internal teams regarding contract performance and issues.
Liaise with senior management, project managers, and legal teams to ensure that contracts are executed efficiently and effectively.
Coordinate with procurement teams to ensure contracts are properly executed and relevant documentation is maintained.
Risk Management & Compliance:
Identify and mitigate risks related to contracts, ensuring that potential issues are addressed early and managed throughout the project lifecycle.
Ensure all projects comply with relevant regulations, company policies, and industry standards.
Work closely with legal teams to manage any potential claims or disputes and ensure adherence to legal requirements in all contracts.
Performance Monitoring & Reporting:
Monitor the performance of contractors and subcontractors, ensuring that deliverables meet quality standards and timelines.
Regularly assess contract performance through site visits, audits, and progress reports to ensure that contractual obligations are being met.
Prepare and present performance reports to senior management and stakeholders, highlighting any issues or concerns related to contract execution.
Contract Negotiation & Amendments:
Negotiate terms and conditions of contracts with contractors, suppliers, and subcontractors to ensure favorable outcomes for the organization.
Handle any amendments, extensions, or variations to existing contracts as required during the course of the project.
Ensure that all changes to contracts are properly documented and agreed upon by all parties.
Cost Control & Budget Management:
Work with project teams to ensure that contract terms align with project budgets and financial goals.
Monitor and control costs associated with contracts, ensuring that any changes or variations are within budgetary limits.
Review contractor invoices and payments to ensure accuracy and adherence to contract terms.
Contract Documentation & Reporting:
Maintain and manage all contract-related documentation, ensuring that records are complete, accurate, and readily available for review.
Ensure that all contracts are properly archived and accessible for future reference.
Generate regular contract performance and compliance reports for senior management.
What Required Skills You’ll Bring:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Law, Business Administration, or a related field. Additional certifications in contract management (e.g., CCM, CPCM) are a plus.
Experience:
Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in contract management within the construction or infrastructure sectors, with a focus on large-scale projects.
Proven track record of managing contracts related to airport infrastructure projects or similar large civil engineering works.
Experience in negotiating, managing, and overseeing contracts from inception to completion, including experience with change orders and contract disputes.
Skills & Knowledge:
Strong knowledge of contract law, terms and conditions, and the construction industry.
Ability to interpret and manage complex contract documents and identify potential issues.
Excellent negotiation and communication skills for managing relationships with contractors, clients, and internal teams.
Familiarity with project management and contract management software tools.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to resolve issues efficiently and proactively.
What Desired Skills You’ll Bring:
Certifications such as CCM (Certified Construction Manager), CPCM (Certified Professional Contract Manager), or PMP (Project Management Professional).
Experience in airport construction contracts or other large infrastructure projects.
Familiarity with legal and regulatory compliance related to construction and contract management.
Knowledge of project budgeting and financial controls within contract frameworks.
Strong leadership skills with the ability to work cross-functionally with various teams, contractors, and stakeholders.
