Job Description:

ARE - MEP

Abu Dhabi, UAE

What You'll Be Doing:

• Reviewing all MEP submittals and ensuring compliance of MEP infrastructure and Landscape works to design requirements, ADQCC specifications and project plan.

• Identifying non-conforming work or materials, notifying the contractor and keeping the proper records.

• Collaborating with engineers and technicians to design and apply new system processes, evaluating systems’ safety, reliability, and performance.

• Monitoring maintenance and inspection plans and following up corrective and preventive measure taken by the contractor.

• Inspecting the work performed by the contractor(s) to ascertain that work is executed in accordance with the contract's documents and accepted practices.

• Report to the Resident Engineer and assist in supervising the construction of landscaping works and associated items.

• Coordinate his direct activities with the other engineers and members of the construction supervision team.

• Assist the Resident Engineer in reviewing of shop drawings, design proposals, method statements and other activities including correspondence related to the electrical/MEP landscaping section and prepare replies for the review of the Resident Engineer.

• Coordinate with other engineers for resolution of related issues.

• Convene and chair special technical meetings with the service authorities, the contractor, subcontractors and other parties related to electrical/MEP work. 

• Ensure accuracy and completeness of records.

• Prepare / Assist in the preparation of Weekly and Monthly progress reports.

• Act positively and participate in all health and safety issues at site, as required by the Resident Engineer and the project safety representatives.

• Provide all necessary on-site direction and assist the Resident Engineer to issue site instructions with respect to electrical/MEP landscaping works and associated items.

• Ensure correctness and completeness of ‘as-built’ drawings within his line of work.

What Required Skills You'll Bring:

• A University BSC Degree in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering with a minimum of 6 years engineering experience and, depending on the assignment, a minimum of 5 years' experience in the specific infrastructure & MEP works

• Proficient experience in electrical engineering on landscape projects preferred in Abu Dhabi, involving design and construction of electrical/MEP systems such as irrigation/TSE pump station, control & instrument systems, landscape lighting, CCTV systems, potable water systems

• Experience in water pumps and irrigation works

• Experience in the factory acceptance and other testing and commissioning activities of these systems

• Good written and oral communication

• Proven ability to perform key technical role

• Registered as a practicing Engineer in Abu Dhabi or having an equivalency certificate issued by Ministry of Education

• Must be fluent in English both written and spoken with an excellent capability in written technical skills as well as oral and written communication skills

• Must have a sound knowledge about contractual relationships

• Must be fully computer literate and able to utilize computer technology to access data, maintain records, generate reports and any project specific engineering and construction relevant softwar

• Keep necessary records and as-built records and take charge of the handing over of the utility works to the respective service authorities and assist the contractor to obtain necessary

• Arabic speaker is an advantage
