Wet Utilities Design Manager
Doha, Qatar
Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Wet Utilities Design Manager to join our team! In this role you will get to review the detailed designs, construction drawings together with Tender and Contract documents.
What You'll Be Doing:
Familiar with load demand calculations for large and small private developments and also for mixed used developments.
Perform design/analysis calculations related to wet utilities such as Treated Sewage Effluent, potable water, Foul Sewer, stormwater networks using PWA and Kahramaa guidelines.
Review Tender drawing submittals and performs technical bid analyses.
Provide technical guidance to CAD Designers, Drafters, and Junior Engineers working on the same project.
Performs complex engineering tasks and particularly important engineering work efficiently and accurately.
Extracts engineering information from CAD drawings.
Prepares engineering computations, material quantity takeoffs, estimates, surveys, and designs.
Completes a variety of assignments such as drawings, specifications, and other materials suitable for procurement and construction purposes.
Frequently interfaces with other Engineering disciplines as well as other departments.Prepares detailed requisitions for equipment and materials.
Reviews supplier drawing submittals and performs technical bid analyses.Prepares and issues specifications, data sheets, and other construction documents.
Provides technical guidance to CAD Designer/Drafters, Designers, and lower-level Engineers working on the same project.May be required to provide the seal and signature of the professional engineer, as appropriate, ensuring compliance with all applicable codes, regulations, and ordinances.May act in an advisory capacity to senior management personnel on engineering related matters.
What Required Skills You'll Bring:
Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering from a reputable institution
Minimum 15 years of infrastructure engineering design particularly water and wastewater networks
5 years or experience in Qatar/GCC region
Demonstrated previous PMCM experience
Proven ability to perform key technical role
Conversant with Potable Water & Fire Fighting / Treated Sewage Effluent / Foul Sewer/ Storm Water regulations such as Kahramaa, Public Works Authority, MME, QCDD and other relevant authorities in Qatar
Through knowledge of local codes, industry practices/regulations and standards including Authorities guidelines and Qatar national standards
Knowledge of current technology and its effective use on the project.
Good spoken and written English is essential.
Advanced presentation, problem solving and communication skills
Ability to work well within a project team of mixed nationalities
What Desired Skills You'll Bring:
Experience in design and review of network models using SewerGems, WaterGems, Infoworks ICM and similar hydraulic design software
Certified PMP
