The VP will partner closely with ES-wide service lines (Planning, Design & Engineering; PM/CM; Construction & D-B) and functional departments to deliver safe, compliant, and high-performing projects.

What You'll Be Doing:

Market Leadership & Strategy

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive market strategy for Defense & Security Facilities, including CONUS and OCONUS installations.
  • Focus on bases, ports, Indo-Pacific and polar infrastructure, and specialized secure facilities (e.g., intelligence, cyber, mission-critical) globally.
  • Anticipate defense posture, Indo-Pacific strategy, and resilience requirements to shape offerings and investment priorities.
  • Build and maintain relationships with senior DoD and allied defense stakeholders.

Business Development & Client Engagement

  • Own growth and capture strategy for the Defense & Security Facilities market, aligned with targeted accounts (e.g., USACE, NAVFAC, AFCEC, DLA, allied equivalents).
  • Prioritize high-value, multi-year programs and frameworks (IDIQs, MATOCs, alliances).
  • Lead capture for strategic pursuits, supervising win strategy, teaming, pricing, and negotiation.
  • Coordinate with other ES sectors to position integrated solutions (e.g., cyber, logistics, mission systems tied to infrastructure).

P&L and Portfolio Management

  • Own P&L performance for the Defense & Security Facilities portfolio.
  • Manage a balanced mix of planning/design, PM/CM, and construction/D-B projects to optimize margins and cash flow.
  • Oversee risk management for projects in challenging geographies (Indo-Pacific, polar regions) and secure environments.
  • Drive portfolio reviews and ensure transparent reporting of performance, risks, and opportunities.

Delivery Excellence (in Partnership with Service Lines)

  • Set performance standards tailored to defense and secure facility environments (e.g., security, resilience, mission availability).
  • Work with PDE, PM/CM, and Construction & D-B service line leaders to allocate resources and expertise.
  • Ensure adherence to ES-wide methods, while meeting DoD and allied defense standards and protocols.
  • Sponsor critical programs and ensure timely resolution of escalated issues or client concerns.

Talent & Culture

  • Build and mentor a market leadership team focused on installation accounts, regional portfolios, and strategic pursuits.
  • Partner with service line leaders to ensure sufficient cleared and deployable staff, including resources for austere or remote locations.
  • Drive a culture of safety, compliance, and mission-focus appropriate to defense and security environments.
  • Support talent pipelines for program managers and technical leads experienced in defense facilities.

What Required Skills You'll Bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, Business, or related field.
  • 15+ years of experience delivering facilities and infrastructure projects for DoD, allied defense, or security agencies.
  • 7+ years in senior leadership roles with P&L accountability.
  • Demonstrated success in winning and delivering major programs with clients such as USACE, NAVFAC, AFCEC, or equivalent.
  • Familiarity with DoD acquisition processes, MILCON, overseas basing, and secure facility standards.
  • Experience leading distributed teams and working in a matrixed organization

What Desired Skills You'll Bring:

  • Advanced degree (MBA, MS, M.Arch, etc.) or equivalent experience.
  • Active security clearance (Secret or above) or eligibility to obtain one.
  • Experience with Indo-Pacific and/or polar infrastructure programs.
