Job Description:
Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Intelligent Traffic Safety Specialist to join our team, who will provide strategic leadership, integrate advanced ITS technologies, engage with stakeholders, ensure regulatory compliance, and oversee quality control processes for high-impact transportation safety projects.
What You'll Be Doing:
Safety Analysis and Assessment: Conduct traffic safety studies, analyze crash data, and identify high-risk areas to develop targeted safety solutions.
Road Safety Audits: Perform safety audits for existing roadways and new designs, providing recommendations for improvements.
Policy and Compliance: Ensure traffic projects comply with safety regulations and standards, including MUTCD, AASHTO, and FHWA guidelines.
Collaboration with Agencies: Work closely with government agencies to develop and implement safety programs and initiatives.
Public Safety Campaigns: Support public outreach and safety education efforts to promote safe driving behaviors and reduce crashes.
What Required Skills You'll Bring:
Expertise in traffic safety analysis, safety audit processes, and traffic data interpretation.
Knowledge of relevant safety standards and guidelines, such as MUTCD and AASHTO.
Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on detail and accuracy.
Excellent communication skills, with experience in public outreach and stakeholder collaboration.
What Desired Skills You'll Bring:
• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Transportation Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum 15+ years of experience in ITS project management, with 5+ years in a leadership role.
