Job Description:

Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Technical Manager (TM) to join our team! In this role you will get to provide technical leadership, design oversight, and interface coordination across all disciplines on a mission‑critical data center project, ensuring that designs are fully coordinated, compliant, and constructible, and support successful commissioning and Ready for Service (RFS).

What You'll Be Doing:

• Act as the PMC’s technical authority, overseeing and coordinating all design disciplines, including architectural, structural, civil, MEP, and specialist systems.
• Manage the interface between the Engineer of Record (EoR), specialist designers, contractors, and commissioning teams to ensure design intent is consistently maintained through construction.
• Review and manage the design development process, ensuring alignment with Employer Requirements, data center standards, and international best practices.
• Lead technical reviews of design deliverables, specifications, calculations, and reports, identifying gaps, risks, and constructability issues early.
  Ensure effective control of technical change, managing design revisions, deviations, and value engineering proposals without undermining performance or resilience.
• Coordinate closely with the Construction Manager and Construction MEP Manager to ensure design solutions are safe, buildable, and support program sequencing.
• Support the integration of commissioning, integrated systems testing (IST), and operational readiness requirements into the design and construction process.
• Participate in technical workshops, risk reviews, and authority or client presentations, representing Parsons with confidence and clarity.
• Maintain structured technical records, including design approvals, technical queries, and interface logs, supporting effective governance and auditability.
• Provide clear, concise technical input into PMC reporting, escalation briefs, and decision papers for senior stakeholders.

What Required Skills You'll Bring:

• 7–10 years of experience in technical leadership roles on complex projects, with proven exposure to data centers or other mission‑critical facilities.
• Strong understanding of data center design principles, including power distribution, cooling strategies, redundancy, resilience, and operational reliability.
• Demonstrated experience working within a Project Management Consultancy (PMC) or Engineer environment, overseeing and coordinating external designers.
• Ability to manage multi‑disciplinary technical interfaces across fast‑track or phased delivery program.
• Solid understanding of international design codes, standards, and data center guidelines.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to translate complex technical issues into clear recommendations for non‑technical stakeholders
• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, or equivalent).
• Formal training in design management, technical assurance, or project management.

What Desired Skills You'll Bring:

• Direct experience delivering hyperscale or enterprise data center projects through design, construction, and commissioning.
• Familiarity with TIA‑942, Uptime Institute, or similar mission‑critical standards.
• Experience supporting commissioning management, IST, and RFS readiness from a technical assurance perspective.
• Proficiency in coordinating design using BIM and digital collaboration platforms (e.g., BIM 360, Aconex).
• Experience working in the Middle East, including authority approvals and multi‑stakeholder technical coordination.
• A collaborative leadership style, capable of balancing technical rigor with program, cost, and constructability considerations.
