Job Description:
Parsons has been a leader in the planning, design and delivery of bridge infrastructure across the world for more than 75 years. Our Canada team is looking for a new graduate engineer to add to our growing team in Halifax. This person will have a desire to work on creating innovative, practical solutions to various infrastructure projects out of our new Halifax office.
We are specialists in bridge design and analysis, earthquake engineering, repair and construction of efficient, elegant structures sustainably integrated into their environment. Main Responsibilities:
- Structural designer for bridge design and rehabilitation projects.
- Participate in the preparation of deliverables (design calculations, feasibility and preliminary-design studies, bearing capacity assessments, seismic assessments, structural analyzes, plans, specifications, estimates and work schedules, etc.).
- Work closely with fellow engineers and technicians to provide coordinated designs.
- Ensure that deliverables are in conformance to technical guides, company’s standards as well as applicable codes.
- Perform other engineering activities associated with this position, as needed.
Required Qualifications:
- Working toward achieving Bachelor of Civil Engineering with specialization in structures
- Knowledge of bridge standards (including CAN/CSA-S6) and structural analysis software (Midas, CSiBridge, etc.)
