Job Description:
Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Structural Engineer Specialist - Saudi National to join our team! In this role you will support to the Engineering Department with particular emphasis on promoting and maintaining the technical adequacy, uniformity, and quality of the designs.
What You'll Be Doing:
Perform structural engineering tasks to meet the development program objectives.
Coordinate structural engineering activities with other disciplines within the Engineering Department and, as needed, with Royal Commission Departments.
Prepare structural design and analysis models, calculations, and provide technical support and guidance to the structural team.
Support the structural engineering team with in-house project design and design reviews for infrastructure, buildings, and related projects.
Familiar with international standards and local governing codes such as ACI, ASCE, BS, SBC, IBC, UBC, etc.
Proficient in design software such as CSI, ETABS, STAAD Pro, SAFE, SAP, Prokon, AutoCAD, etc.
Execute structural designs and review calculations, design drawings, shop drawings, IFC drawings, construction documents, and coordination drawings, ensuring feasibility, cost-effectiveness, strength, and structural integrity.
Assist structural team in review A/E contractor design drawings, specifications, and calculation submissions, coordinating with other design disciplines and departments.
Apply value engineering throughout all design stages to achieve safe, efficient, and simple structural systems for various projects, ranging from small to mid-scale.
Review vendor packages, shop drawings, and construction submittals.
Conduct field inspections and provide professional field support during the construction phase as required.
Review soil investigation reports and understand the design parameters to consider.
Prepare technical correspondence, reports, and studies.
Prepare requests for geotechnical investigations.
Assist the project engineer in preparing the scope of work (SOW) and reviewing the level of detail (LOD) for the project.
Provide technical responses to the engineering and construction teams.
Knowledge of corrosion protection and cathodic mitigation requirements is advantageous but not essential.
Work closely with the supervisor to ensure complete satisfaction regarding structural design aspects of assigned projects.
What Required Skills You'll Bring:
Bachelor Degree in Civil Engineering/ Structural Engineering from a recognized university with 0-2 years of professional experience in the structural design for infrastructure, building/ bridge projects. (A GPA of 3/4 or 4/5 is required for candidate.
The ability to communicate effectively in spoken and written English is essential.
What Desired Skills You'll Bring:
Knowledge of computers and basic software application: MS Office (Word, Excel, Power Point.)
Design experience is preferred.
Previous experience of working in the Middle East and knowledge of local governing code will be considered an advantage.
