Senior Manager - SME Construction Waste Management

Parsons Corporation seeks a highly skilled and experienced Senior Manager - SME Construction Waste Management to contribute to the groundbreaking NEOM THE LINE project. This pivotal role requires a deep understanding of sustainable construction practices, waste management strategies, and regulatory compliance. The ideal candidate will have a strong track record in managing complex waste management programs for large-scale projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Waste Management Strategy Development:

    • Develop and implement comprehensive waste management strategies aligned with NEOM's sustainability goals and local regulations.

    • Identify opportunities for waste reduction, reuse, and recycling.

    • Establish clear targets for waste diversion and recycling rates.

  • Waste Management Operations:

    • Oversee the daily operations of construction waste management activities, including waste segregation, collection, transportation, and disposal.

    • Monitor waste generation rates and identify areas for improvement.

    • Ensure compliance with all relevant environmental regulations and permits.

  • Supplier Management:

    • Select and manage qualified waste management contractors and suppliers.

    • Negotiate contracts and monitor performance to ensure cost-effective and environmentally sound waste management practices.

  • Monitoring and Reporting:

    • Track and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to waste management, such as waste diversion rates, recycling rates, and disposal costs.

    • Prepare regular progress reports and presentations for project stakeholders.

  • Stakeholder Engagement:

    • Collaborate with project teams, subcontractors, and local authorities to promote sustainable waste management practices.

    • Educate and train project personnel on waste management procedures and best practices.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field.

  • Minimum of 20 years of experience in construction waste management, preferably on large-scale infrastructure projects.

  • In-depth knowledge of waste management regulations, standards, and best practices.

  • Strong understanding of sustainable construction principles and circular economy concepts.

  • Experience in developing and implementing waste management plans.

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, international environment.
