Job Description:
Senior Structural Engineer
Dubai, UAE
What You'll Be Doing
Lead structural engineering for all bridge and tunnel works on a major roads project in Dubai.
Oversee design review of all bridge and tunnel elements, including post-tensioned and segmental structures.
Review and approve IFC drawings, calculations, shop drawings, and temporary works designs.
Coordinate with designers and authorities on RFIs, design changes, and approvals.
Approve method statements and provide solutions for construction and ground-related challenges.
Oversee geometry control, monitoring, and survey/as-built verification for bridges and tunnels.
Lead investigations of non-conformances and approve repair/remedial designs.
Ensure compliance with project specifications, RTA standards, and international codes.
Support planning, risk management, and HSE compliance for critical structural activities.
Prepare and present technical reports, progress updates, and risk registers.
What Required Skills You’ll Bring
Bachelor’s in Civil or Structural Engineering.
Minimum 12 years’ structural experience, including 8 years on major bridges/flyovers.
At least 5 years’ UAE/GCC experience on RTA or similar authority projects.
Proven experience with post-tensioned segmental and box girder bridges and large spans.
Strong command of structural analysis software.
Proficient in AutoCAD, Revit, and Navisworks.
Excellent leadership, decision-making, and team management.
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
Fluent English (written and spoken).
Commercially aware, balancing technical, time, and cost factors.
What Desired Skills You'll Bring
Valid UAE driving license.
Strong track record with RTA, Dubai Municipality, and similar authorities.
Experience with tunnel structures: cut-and-cover, TBM tunnels, segmental linings, shotcrete, and waterproofing.
Advanced capability in reviewing complex temporary works for bridges and tunnels.
Experience managing tunnelling risks: ground conditions, water ingress, settlement, and fire/life safety.
Background in multidisciplinary coordination on large UAE/GCC infrastructure projects.
