Ready to take a senior role within a structural engineering team primarily focused on the design of buildings and complex structures, with exposure to bridge projects considered an added advantage. This role offers the opportunity to apply and further develop engineering expertise on challenging projects that make a tangible impact on the community. Parsons is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer to work within a structural design team and take a leading role in the delivery of major design projects for key clients.

What You'll Be Doing:

• Take leadership and work within a team of structural engineers to deliver large and complex projects in compliance with project requirements, under the direction of the Design Structural Manager.

• Lead the preparation of structural design drawings, specifications, and calculation submittals for a wide range of structural design projects in accordance with applicable standards and authority requirements.

• Ensure professional, timely, and courteous responses to all structural-related enquiries from Clients and Authorities.

• ​Lead the preparation of technical correspondence, reports, and studies related to structural works.

• Take technical responsibility for the engineering production and quality of deliverables for the structural team on assigned projects.

• Coordinate with Geotechnical Specialists on matters related to soil–structure interaction.

• Coordinate structural engineering activities with other disciplines within the Engineering Departments, including Architecture, MEP, and BIM teams, to ensure fully integrated design solutions.

• Interface with Clients and approval Agencies/Authorities for building and structural design works.

• Provide technical advice and support to other engineering departments on matters related to building structures and associated systems.

• Provide technical input during pre-bid conferences, proposal evaluations, and post-award or other contract-related meetings.

• Act as a mentor to the structural project team and support their technical and professional development.

• Perform other duties as directed by the Design Structural Manager

What Required Skills You'll Bring:

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering and/or Structural Engineering with a minimum of 10 years of post-graduate professional experience in structural engineering design and construction, with a strong emphasis on building structures, including reinforced- prestressed concrete and steel systems.

• Strong experience in building structures design.

• Proficiency in BIM workflows and coordination with multi-disciplinary models.

• Coding / scripting skills to support automation, model checks and workflow optimization

• Experience in steel structure design associated with utility buildings and ancillary structures.

• Familiarity with computational design and automation tools, including Dynamo scripting, Python, and Grasshopper, for design optimization, BIM automation, and interdisciplinary coordination is considered an advantage.
