Job Description:

Parsons is looking for a talented Senior Structural Engineer to join our team! In this role you will support the design review, technical oversight, and construction coordination of structural systems for a major development program in Qatar. You will work closely with multidisciplinary teams to ensure that structural solutions meet project requirements, regulatory standards, and international engineering best practices.

As Senior Structural Engineer, you will play a key role in reviewing structural designs, resolving technical interfaces, and ensuring the safe and efficient delivery of complex structural systems across major development packages.

What You'll Be Doing:

• Provide technical oversight and review of structural engineering designs for major project packages including buildings, podium structures, foundations, and long-span structural systems.

• Participate in the design review process for structural calculations, drawings, reports, and engineering models to ensure compliance with project requirements and international engineering standards.

• Support the coordination of structural interfaces with architectural, civil, mechanical, and specialist engineering disciplines.

• Provide technical input on complex multidisciplinary developments including stadium structures, heavy-duty pavements and podiums associated with motorsport or large-scale venues, mixed-use vertical developments, and waterfront or marine interface structures.

• Review structural engineering consultant submissions including calculations, design reports, shop drawings, and technical specifications.

• Support the review of construction methodologies including temporary works, structural sequencing strategies, and long-span structural design approaches.

• Provide engineering input related to crane base design, scaffolding strategies, lifting plans, and construction staging to ensure structural integrity during construction activities.

• Review façade engineering consultant submissions including structural reports, façade anchoring systems, and performance calculations.

• Assist with resolving technical issues related to structural interfaces and multidisciplinary coordination challenges.

• Support construction supervision activities including structural inspections, compliance monitoring, and coordination with contractors and consultants.

• Ensure structural works comply with applicable codes, standards, and regulatory requirements including Qatar Construction Specifications (QCS) and local permitting processes.

• Participate in technical workshops and coordination meetings with project stakeholders to address design conflicts, constructability challenges, and engineering integration requirements.

What Required Qualifications & Skills You'll Bring:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering from an accredited university, with a Master’s degree preferred.

• Minimum 12 to 15 years of experience in structural design and technical review of major infrastructure or building developments.

• At least five years of experience working within a PMCM, PMC, or client-representative role on large-scale projects.

• Demonstrated experience working on complex multidisciplinary developments including stadium or large venue structures, heavy-duty pavements or podium structures, mixed-use vertical developments, and waterfront or marine interface projects.

• Proven experience delivering projects in the GCC region, preferably including experience in Qatar.

• Strong understanding of Qatar Construction Specifications (QCS), local authority requirements, and regulatory approval processes.

• Expert knowledge of structural engineering principles including concrete and steel structures, foundation systems, podium structures, and superstructure framing.

• Experience designing and reviewing structures subject to dynamic loads such as vibration, fatigue, and seismic forces associated with large event venues or infrastructure.

• Knowledge of temporary works design, construction sequence planning, and long-span structural design strategies.

• Strong capability in reviewing structural engineering calculations, drawings, models, and technical reports.

• Experience resolving constructability challenges and multidisciplinary design conflicts involving structural, architectural, MEP, and civil systems.

• Familiarity with brownfield development constraints, adaptive reuse strategies, and stadium retrofit conditions.

• Experience with substructure and piling systems particularly in coastal or reclaimed land environments.

• Technical proficiency in structural design and analysis software including ETABS, SAFE, STAAD Pro, Robot Structural Analysis, Revit Structure, and Navisworks.

• Experience reviewing BIM models and managing structural coordination across digital engineering environments.

• Strong communication, coordination, and technical reporting skills with the ability to interface effectively with consultants, contractors, and project stakeholders.

What Desired Skills You'll Bring:

• Professional certifications such as UPDA Grade A or B (Qatar) are desirable.

• Membership with recognized engineering institutions such as IStructE, SEI, ASCE, or equivalent professional bodies is advantageous.
