Job Description:

Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Senior Roads Design Engineer to join our team! In this role you will get to work within a PMO working on major highways / infrastructure projects in the KSA Capital, Riyadh City.

What You'll Be Doing:

• Completes a variety of assignments, including in-depth reviews of road and highway drawings, specifications, and design reports at concept and detailed design stages, with particular emphasis on interfaces with structures, drainage, utilities, traffic, and other disciplines.
• Performs advanced highway engineering tasks, including extraction and interpretation of engineering information from drawings, development of conceptual design alternatives, and preparation of engineering details and exhibits for highways and multilevel interchanges.
• Conducts cost–benefit analyses of alternative road and interchange design options and provides clear, well-justified recommendations to support decision-making.
• Prepares and reviews pavement design calculations and road safety–related design elements, ensuring full compliance with applicable standards and best practices.
• Reviews third-party design submissions, supplier drawings, and technical documents, and prepares coordinated technical comments and technical bid analyses, as required.
• Coordinates with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders to resolve design issues, address and close comments, and support timely design approvals.
• Prepares and delivers presentations on complex road and interchange design matters to internal teams, clients, and external stakeholders.
• May act in an advisory capacity to senior management on road and highway engineering matters, including design risks, value engineering opportunities, and constructability considerations.
• Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.

What Required Skills You'll Bring:

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering.  Master’s Degree desirable.
• 15 years of solid roadway design experience with particular emphasis on Highway and complex multilevel interchange designs. 
• Proven capability in developing geometric road designs, including horizontal and vertical alignments, cross-sections, interchanges, ramps, and junction layouts in accordance with international and local standards.
• Solid understanding of pavement design principles, including pavement structure selection, materials, and design life considerations, with the ability to review and optimize pavement designs.
• Good knowledge of road safety engineering principles, including application of road safety standards and integration of safety measures within the design.
• Experience in reviewing third party designs and coordinating comments for approval
• Experience of working within a multi-discipline team environment
• Proactive approach to own activities and helping in other disciplines, as far as practically possible, to assist in PMO overall efficiency
• Good presentation and communication skills.

What Desired Skills You'll Bring:

• Previous experience of working in a design consultancy and/or PMC/PMO
• Charted (or similar) status with an industry recognized engineering body
• Master’s Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering
• Experience managing large tasks and/or projects
