Job Description:
Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Senior Resident Construction Engineer to join our team! In this role you will provide functional guidance, ensure contractor compliance with the Safety Manual and Quality Control Program, and manage teams effectively. Strong project management skills, a proven track record in handling concurrent projects, and the ability to work within financial budgets, manage risks, and adhere to timelines are essential. The candidate must ensure projects comply with drawings, specifications, and programs, and be proficient in reporting and presenting processes and methods.
Reports to Senior Resident Construction Manager, Senior Client Team Management and Sections. Provides direction and supervision to Resident Construction Engineers. Interacts with project administrative staff and any other specifically assigned positions to the project - as required by the role
What You'll Be Doing:
Monitors and ensures Contractor meets and fulfills project and business goals such as KPls, safety, quality, time, budget or any other requirement to ensure goals are met.
Initiates and chairs regular meetings and workshops required to deliver the works to the agreed quality standards, safely within agreed budgets and timeframes
Team player, develops working relationship with subordinates and contractors
Provides project management guidance in interpretation of specifications, procedures, methods, schedule, and productivity. Reviews clashes and or conflicts to resolve problems with contractor performance to determine best options.
Supervises the Resident Construction Engineers (Arch, Civil, Elec, Mech) and administrative support staff.
Receives initiates and routes all correspondence and submittals between Contractor and Owner.
Reviews shop drawings / as-built drawings, material submittals and technical or contractual clarifications submitted by contractor, and coordinates and routes for various Departmental or End User approvals.
Reviews and recommends approval of Contractor's Monthly Invoices and Progress reports.
Proactively detect potential problems in contractor performance to agreed schedules or specifications.
Problem solve with contractor, other departments and stake holders to determine whether actions proposed are appropriate and meet the project goals for resolution.
Any other duties that are deemed to be necessary to successfully fulfill the role and requirements of the client organization
Perform any other job-related duties as assigned
What Required Skills You'll Bring:
BSc Degree Engineering - construction related discipline from a Western University
Minimum 8 years of construction experience, of which at least 4 years must be direct Project Management or Construction Management responsibility on a variety of significant Construction/Infrastructure Projects - roads bridges, utilities, residential, commercial, educational, health facilities, industrial etc. fully conversant with all forms of construction methods, techniques, codes and practices.
Professional Membership or Project Management certification is desirable
What Desired Skills You'll Bring:
Working experience and general knowledge of multi-craft and multi-discipline construction practices — and in a multi-cultural environment.
5 years' international industry exposure desirable.
Fluent in English, oral and written, is mandatory and also Arabic desirable.
Knowledgeable with MS Office software, MS Project, Primavera, MSWord, Excel, Power Point.
Must be able to obtain Saudi Driver License
