Job Description:
Parsons are looking for a skilled Senior Quantity Surveyor to support the commercial and contract management functions on a major airfield infrastructure project. Working as part of the delivery partner team, the Quantity Surveyor will be responsible for cost estimating, contract administration, and progress valuations to ensure project efficiency and financial compliance. The ideal candidate will have at least 8 years of relevant experience, ideally on infrastructure or aviation projects, and a strong understanding of FIDIC-based contracts.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Assist in the preparation of cost plans, budgets, and financial forecasts for project components.
- Prepare and review interim payment applications, valuations, and final accounts.
- Monitor and report on project costs, cash flow, and variations throughout construction.
- Support contract preparation, review, and administration using standard forms (e.g. FIDIC).
- Assist in the evaluation and negotiation of claims, change orders, and variations.
- Maintain comprehensive records to support contract management and audit compliance.
- Assist in the preparation of bills of quantities, pricing documents, and tender evaluations.
- Support procurement processes for subcontractors and suppliers in coordination with procurement teams.
- Coordinate with site teams, consultants, and contractors on commercial and contractual matters.
- Prepare periodic cost and commercial reports for internal and client review.
- Contribute to risk analysis and value engineering exercises.
What Required Skills You’ll Bring:
- Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or Construction Management.
- Minimum 10 years of experience as a Quantity Surveyor on infrastructure or major civil engineering projects.
- Previous exposure to airfield or aviation-related works is beneficial.
- Solid knowledge of standard forms of contract, particularly FIDIC.
- Proficient in quantity take-offs, cost analysis, and contract reporting.
- Skilled in Microsoft Office and quantity surveying software (e.g., CostX, CANDY, Excel).
- Strong attention to detail and communication skills.
- Membership or progression toward professional accreditation (e.g., RICS, AIQS).
- Experience working on airport or aviation infrastructure projects.
- Familiarity with regional procurement regulations and practices.
- Fluency in Arabic is an advantage.
