Job Description:

We are currently looking for a Senior Project Manager for project in Doha, Qatar.

Provides direction and management for every phase of large projects or programs to assure on-schedule completion within or below budget and in accordance with contractual obligations. The Senior Manager - Buildings must be capable of managing multiple projects or program valued up to $1 billion in total installed cost. The project or program requiring company representation at this level may be of lesser total installed cost if management determines that it requires an unusual technical or managerial approach. Relocation to the job site may be required.

 

What You’ll Be Doing
The Senior Manager - Buildings shall have proven track record of Project Management skills and experience in large –scale projects but not limited to the following:

  • Responsible for diligent timely and cost-effective project delivery of multiple building projects/sub projects.
  • Ensure the final handover to end users, meeting pre-agreed criteria (quality, scope of construction, licenses required).
  • Oversee and ensure project controls and QHSSE compliance of projects.
  • Oversee Construction, Engineering and Project Controls team

    Detailed design and project delivery (construction, engineering, & project control)
  • Manage the PMCM & CS teams to ensure specs and detailed design are as planned and according to regulations.
  • Manage the construction team to ensure the contractor delivers the project according to the specific design specs, timeline, and budget.
  • Oversee 3rd party work on construction.
  • Manage indirectly the project controls to ensure the project is delivered according to schedule, timeline and quality.
  • Ensure budgetary, schedule compliance of projects.
  • Cross communication between construction, engineering & project controls.
  • Decide on committing internal resources based on department labor standards and benchmarks.
  • Review and recommend project timeline, make capital and resource decisions as projects hit critical milestones.
  • Set up a triage process to address any slippage in schedule or cost overruns, mitigate financial impact on landed cost of project.
  • Escalate issues regarding changes to project timeline or cost to Project Director, Programs (Building).
  • Review agreement with procurement project requirements.
  • Review project costing estimates for new projects, and feed information to property development for initial studies / design.
  • Review decisions on committing delivery resources based on department labor standards and benchmarks.
    Relationship management
  • influence strategic planning and portfolio planning discussions by presenting delivery point of view and expertise on decisions such as asset disposal /acquisition/restructuring, etc.; execute per plan.
  • Oversee the work with Development Management.
  • Review propositions of scope of work to procurement team.
  • Review communication with procurement. (feedback loop on contractors, etc.)
  • Maintain a smoothly functioning department - adopt the best management practices and resolve issues between Project Managers and Planning / Design / Scheduling.
  • Maintain relations with government entities for smooth processing of licenses and permits
    Other duties
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as needed as well as determine and manage priorities with minimal guidance.


What Required Skills You’ll Bring

•                Holder of minimum a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering or equivalent.

•                Registered member for relevant discipline in Qatar MMUP Engineering Committee (Mandatory).

•                Registered member of recognized professional body (Preferred).

•                Have a minimum of 15 years of demonstrable experience in Project Management (after graduation).

•                Have a minimum of 05 years’ experience as Manager-Buildings or similar role.

•                Have a minimum of 05 years’ experience in the Middle East.


What Desired Skills You’ll Bring

  • Proven ability to perform in a management capacity, excellent written and oral communications skills, and a thorough knowledge of industry practices and regulations are also required. In addition, must be knowledgeable of current technology and how it can be effectively utilized on the project.
