Job Description:
Parsons is looking for an exceptionally talented Senior Land Surveyor to join our site-based construction supervision team on a major public realm development in Diriyah, which includes a series of iconic and neighborhood parks, open spaces, and over 55 kilometers of streetscape. The objective of this program is to create a vibrant, inclusive environment that enhances livability, accessibility, and community well-being.
What You’ll Be Doing
Report to the Resident Engineer/Construction Director and act as the lead surveyor for all site surveying and setting‑out verification activities.
Supervise and coordinate Parsons’ survey team and review the contractor’s survey work to ensure accuracy and compliance with project requirements.
Verify the control points, benchmarks, and reference coordinates established by the contractor and ensure they are correctly related to the approved project datum and grid system.
Check and confirm the contractor’s setting‑out for alignments, levels, coordinates, and dimensions for roads, utilities, structures, hardscape, landscape features, and other works.
Conduct independent spot checks and surveys to confirm that constructed works are in accordance with approved drawings and tolerances.
Review and comment on the contractor’s survey reports, layout drawings, as‑built surveys, and topographic surveys, ensuring consistency and completeness.
Identify and report any discrepancies between design drawings and site conditions, and support the supervision team in resolving setting‑out issues.
Coordinate survey activities with discipline engineers (roads, structures, wet and dry utilities, hardscape, landscape) to support interface and clash avoidance.
Maintain and ensure proper use, calibration, and safekeeping of survey equipment (total stations, GPS/GNSS, levels, laser instruments, etc.).
Manage and maintain an organized digital and hard-copy record of survey data, field notes, and as‑built information for future reference and handover.
Support the verification of earthwork quantities, volumetric calculations, and measurement to assist the project’s commercial and quantity surveying teams.
Participate in progress and coordination meetings and provide survey-related inputs, constraints, and recommendations.
Ensure all survey activities are carried out in accordance with HSE requirements, safe work practices, and Parsons quality procedures.
Assist in the preparation and review of as‑built drawings and final survey records for handover to the client and relevant authorities.
What Required Skills You’ll Bring
Bachelor's degree in Surveying Engineering from a recognized institution.
in land/engineering surveying on large-scale infrastructure, public realm, or urban development projects, including at least several years in a senior or lead surveyor role.
Strong proficiency in the use of modern survey instruments and software, including total stations, GPS/GNSS, digital levels, and survey data processing tools.
What Desired Skills You’ll Bring
Solid understanding of surveying principles, coordinate systems, leveling, and construction setting‑out for civil, structural, and landscape works.
Proven experience working in a site-based construction supervision environment, verifying contractor setting‑out and as‑built data.
Ability to read and interpret engineering, architectural, and utility drawings and translate them into precise field layouts.
Strong attention to detail, analytical skills, and record-keeping, with a commitment to accuracy and quality.
Good communication and coordination skills, able to work effectively with multi-disciplinary teams and contractors.
Experience in KSA or the GCC region is preferred.
