Job Description:
Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Sr. Roads Engineer to join our team! In this role you will get to work on many amazing and state of the art projects in the Kingdom and GCC.
What You'll Be Doing:
May function as Lead on medium to large projects and proposals, assuming responsibility for the work of the group.
May plan, direct, and supervise the work of a major engineering unit or project requiring a large-scale expenditure of manpower and financial investment.
Leads other Engineers, BIM Modelers, CAD and design personnel in technical excellence and growth in the Quality Improvement Process and projects.
Provides technical consultations for interdisciplinary analytical studies and analyses.
Ensures compliance of design with all applicable codes and regulations, providing the seal and signature of the professional engineer when required by statute or contract.
Prepares material/equipment specifications and purchase requisitions; reviews supplier data; witnesses shop tests, assists with assessing supplier manufacturing capabilities.
Develops operation and maintenance plans; develops standard operating procedures; prepares O & M manuals and may conduct on-site training of personnel.
Conducts surveys, studies, and site investigations.
Must be able to prepare Scoping documents for Topographical and GPR surveys.
Well versed with road drainage requirements including Site grading / Rough Grading.
Strong working knowledge on Pavement design both for Rigid and Flexible pavements.
Maintains affiliation with professional societies to keep abreast of current technologies.
Helps determine budget estimates and staffing requirements for the defined scope and schedule. May assist with other administrative and technical duties that also includes training and development of Engineers, Associate Engineer etc.
Recommends and prepares technical papers / recommendations.
Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate that includes but not limited to IDC, IDR, Technical report writing, presentations, inter and intra disciplinary coordination, business development etc.
Excellent commend on technical report writing both in English and Arabic where required.
A team player, who can also able to work on design in case of urgencies or when the design team is engaged in other tasks.
A lead who is able to keep track of the team progress against the agreed deadlines and keep the Technical Manager well informed of it including any risk that may arise.
Mandatory prior experience on working with BIM workflows and well aware of software related to BIM (such as Infraworks, Navisworks etc.).
Well aware of QA/QC procedures with special focus on self checks before handing over the drawings / documents for QA/QC checks.
Maintains affiliation with professional societies to keep abreast of current technologies.
Helps determine budget estimates and staffing requirements for the defined scope and schedule.
May assist with other administrative and technical duties that also includes training and development of Engineers, Associate Engineer etc.
Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate that includes but not limited to IDC, IDR, Technical report writing, presentations, inter and intra disciplinary coordination, business development etc.
What Required Skills You'll Bring:
Bachelor's Degree in Civil or Transportation Engineering from an accredited university/ institution.
10+ years of related work experience, including considerable experience in working with KSA projects.
Mandatory prior experience on working with BIM workflows and well aware of software related to BIM (such as Infraworks, Navisworks etc).
Must be proficient in Transportation engineering software's (Civil 3D, Auto Turn, etc.) and safety requirements.
Strong understanding and practical experience with local KSA and international standards such as AMMANAH, MOMRAH, SHC, RCRC, AASHTO, DMRB etc.
Proven skills in Transportation projects from Proposal stage up to the Construction documentation.
Proven skills in leading design team of projects and proposals.
Proven presentation skills with the clients, departments, and authorities.
Must be well aware and shall be able to interpret and implement data from Traffic reports and Traffic findings as provided by Traffic Engineers.
Must also possess a thorough knowledge of current technology and be able to select and apply appropriate engineering software for use on project.
What Desired Skills You'll Bring:
Masters degree in Transportation will be an added advantage.
Professional Engineer registration may be required.
Potential to perform in a lead capacity, excellent written and oral communications skills, and a familiarity of industry practices and regulations are required
Must also possess a thorough knowledge of current technology and be able to select and apply appropriate engineering software for use on project.
Capability to work as discipline Project Engineer on medium to large projects, assuming responsibility for the work of the group and conducts surveys, studies, and site investigations.
