Job Summary: The Senior Electrical Engineer will play a key role in overseeing and managing all electrical systems and installations for a large-scale villa development project. The ideal candidate will have a solid technical background, extensive experience with consultancy firms, and additional exposure to infrastructure projects. Dubai experience is mandatory, as the candidate must be familiar with local regulations, standards, and construction practices. This role requires leadership, technical expertise, and the ability to deliver high-quality electrical solutions within budget and on schedule.

What You'll Be Doing:

Design Review and Approval

• Lead the review and approval of electrical designs, layouts, and specifications provided by consultants and contractors.

• Ensure designs comply with Dubai-specific regulations, international standards (e.g., IEC, NEC), and project requirements.

• Provide expert-level technical input to optimize electrical systems for energy efficiency, sustainability, and cost-effectiveness.

Project Management

• Oversee and manage the progress of electrical installations across all villas, ensuring alignment with project schedules and milestones.

• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, including architects, civil engineers, mechanical engineers, and infrastructure specialists, to ensure seamless integration of electrical systems.

• Prepare and maintain detailed project documentation, including progress reports, inspection records, and technical evaluations.

Quality Assurance

• Establish and enforce quality control processes for all electrical works, ensuring compliance with approved designs and standards.

• Conduct regular inspections and audits of electrical installations to identify and address discrepancies or defects.

• Ensure proper testing, commissioning, and handover of electrical systems.

Cost Control

• Monitor and manage electrical-related costs to ensure adherence to the allocated budget.

• Evaluate contractor and supplier quotations for electrical materials and systems, ensuring value for money.

• Recommend cost-effective solutions without compromising quality or safety.

Safety and Compliance

• Ensure all electrical works adhere to Dubai-specific safety regulations and codes.

• Implement and enforce safety protocols for electrical installations and operations on-site.

• Conduct risk assessments and mitigate potential hazards related to electrical systems.

Stakeholder Coordination

• Act as the primary point of contact for electrical-related matters between the client, contractors, and consultants.

• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and contractors during installation and commissioning phases.

• Attend project meetings and provide updates on electrical works progress.

Sustainability and Innovation

• Lead the integration of energy-efficient solutions such as LED lighting, smart home systems, and renewable energy sources (e.g., solar panels).

• Stay updated on emerging technologies and recommend innovative solutions for villa electrical systems.

• Promote sustainable practices and compliance with green building standards (e.g., LEED, ESTIDAMA).

Infrastructure Integration

• Collaborate with infrastructure teams to ensure proper integration of electrical systems with utilities such as power distribution networks, substations, and street lighting.

• Provide technical input on electrical aspects of infrastructure works, such as cabling, transformers, and load calculations.

What Required Skills You'll Bring:

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).

• Professional certifications (e.g., PMP, LEED, or local electrical licensing) are highly desirable.

• Minimum 15 years of experience in electrical engineering, with at least 5-7 years in a PMC or consultancy firm role.

• Extensive experience managing electrical works for large-scale residential projects, preferably villa developments.

• Additional experience with infrastructure projects (e.g., power distribution networks, substations, or utilities) is an advantage.

• Mandatory experience working in Dubai, with a strong understanding of local regulations, standards, and construction practices.

• Expert knowledge of electrical systems design, installation, and commissioning.

• In-depth understanding of Dubai-specific electrical codes and standards (e.g., DEWA regulations).

• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, or other design software.

• Experience with energy-efficient and sustainable electrical solutions.

• Exceptional leadership and communication skills to manage teams and coordinate with stakeholders.

• Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities, especially under pressure.

• Ability to mentor junior engineers and foster collaboration across teams.

• Timely completion of electrical installations across all villas.

• Compliance with Dubai-specific quality and safety standards.

• Adherence to project budget for electrical works.

• Effective coordination with stakeholders and resolution of technical issues.

• Successful testing, commissioning, and handover of electrical systems.

Work Environment:

• The role will be based on-site at the villa development project location, with occasional visits to the PMC office.

• Regular interaction with contractors, consultants, and the client is required.

Reporting Structure:

• Reports to the Project Director or Senior Project Manager within the PMC team.

• Provides leadership and technical guidance to junior engineers and contractors.
