Job Description:
Parsons is seeking an experienced and results-driven Senior Design Manager to lead and manage the design management, assurance and approvals activities for Districts 13 and 15 roads and infrastructure as part of the prestigious Qiddiya Project. This role involves overseeing all aspects of the design management, assurance and approvals process ensuring compliance with project requirements, and delivering innovative and sustainable solutions. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in delivering high-quality design outcomes for this transformative Vision 2030 project.
The Senior Design Manager is responsible for managing the Lead Design Consultant (LDC)for multi-disciplinary services for the design of primary infrastructure from Concept stage through to “Issue for Construction” stage for district roads and associated utility assets.
The Senior Design Manager will demonstrate experience in managing Design Consultancies on major land development roads and infrastructure projects and detailed understanding and success in managing the end to end design management and approvals process.
What You'll Be Doing:
Design Leadership:
- Manage the Lead design Consultant through design management, assurance and approvals for Districts 13 & 15 roads Lead design , ensuring alignment with project requirements, timelines, and quality standards.
- Provide technical leadership and guidance to the design team, ensuring innovative and cost-effective solutions.
- Coordination and Integration:
- Collaborate with other departments(e.g.Development Team subject matter experts, utilities, structural, environmental) to ensure seamless integration of road design with the overall project.
- Act as the primary point of contact for design-related issues, facilitating communication between stakeholders.
- Ensure alignment of design deliverables with the project’s master plan and objectives.
- Quality Assurance and Compliance:
- Manage the design review process to ensure and evidence accuracy, quality, and compliance with project specifications, local regulations, and international standards.
- Implement Qiddiya quality assurance processes
- Identify and resolve design discrepancies or conflicts in a timely manner.
- Project Management:
- Develop and maintain design review and approval schedules, ensuring timely delivery of all design packages.
- Monitor the performance of design consultants and contractors, addressing any delays or issues.
- Identify risks related to design activities and develop mitigation strategies.
- Stakeholder Engagement:
- Work closely with clients, consultants, and contractors to address design-related queries and concerns.
- Provide regular updates on design and approvals progress, challenges, and resolutions to senior management and clients.
- Manage client expectations and ensure satisfaction with design outcomes.
- Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate records of design documentation, approvals, and revisions.
- Prepare detailed reports on design progress, issues, and resolutions for internal and external stakeholders.
What Required Skills You'll Bring:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Transportation Engineering, or a related field. A master’s degree is preferred.
- Minimum of 15 years of experience in design management, with a focus on road and infrastructure projects.
- Proven experience in managing large-scale infrastructure projects, preferably in the Middle East.
- Proficiency in design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Civil 3D, BIM tools) and project management tools.
- Strong understanding of road design processes, construction methodologies, and local regulations.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
