Job Description:
Senior Coastal Engineer
Dubai, UAE
Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Senior Coastal Engineer to join our team! In this role you will get to work within a team delivering Ports and Marine design solutions across the MENA region.
What You'll Be Doing:
Design of coastal protection structures such as revetments and breakwaters.
Design of beaches including groynes .
Design scour protection.
Design of seawater intake/outfall structures.
Prepare specifications and manage bathymetric surveys.
Inspect and assess the condition of existing coastal structures.
Participate in the preparation of specifications for marine geotechnical investigations.
Oversee the use of advanced hydrodynamic modeling software such as the Mike21 suite of programs.
Function as discipline Project Coastal Engineer on projects, assuming responsibility for leading designs for the group.
Plan, direct, and supervise the coastal engineering work on a project with responsibility for schedule, quality and resource expenditure.
Lead other Engineers and design personnel in technical excellence and growth.
Ensures compliance of marine and coastal design with all applicable codes and regulations.
Maintains affiliation with professional societies to keep abreast of current technologies.
Prepares technical papers, reports, and presentations.
What Required Skills You'll Bring:
Minimum of bachelor’s degree in Engineering and 8 years of related work experience in coastal engineering.
Ability to perform in a lead capacity, excellent English written and oral communications skills, and familiarity with industry practices and regulations
Must also possess a thorough knowledge of current marine and coastal engineering design standards and be able to select and apply appropriate engineering software for use on projects.
What Desired Skills You'll Bring:
Experience with local approving authorities for marine and coastal works in the UAE is an advantage.
