Job Description:

Parsons is seeking a Senior Civil Engineer to support our Water / Wastewater projects in Southern Florida!

In this role, you'll focus on the design of structures which support Water, Wastewater and Water Resources facilities, making water supplies more resilient and sustainable.

You'll have the opportunity to design a variety of structural systems, broaden your design experience and collaborate with other disciplines - all while delivering critical water infrastructure projects to your community.

Here's what you'll be doing:

  • Performs complex structural analysis, perform calculations, and prepare sketches and drawings for the design of water and wastewater treatment plants, water resource facilities, and other complex structural facilities.
  • Extracts engineering information from CAD drawings.
  • Prepares engineering computations, material quantity takeoffs, estimates, surveys, and designs.
  • Completes a variety of assignments such as drawings, specifications, and other materials suitable for procurement and construction purposes. Frequently interfaces with other Engineering disciplines as well as other departments.
  • Prepares detailed requisitions for equipment and materials
  • Reviews supplier drawing submittals and performs technical bid analyses.
  • Prepares and issues specifications, data sheets, and other construction documents.
  • Perform construction phase engineering duties such as site visits, responding to RFI’s, and review of contractor submittals.
  • Provides technical guidance to CAD Designer/Drafters, Designers, and lower-level Engineers working on the same project.
  • May be required to provide the seal and signature of the professional engineer, as appropriate, ensuring compliance with all applicable codes, regulations, and ordinances.
  • May act in an advisory capacity to senior management personnel on engineering related matters.
  • Supervises Structural Engineers and works with Structural Technicians in preparation of structural drawings and specifications. Is responsible for leading larger production teams and serving as the responsible charge for projects.
  • Perform project administrative tasks, which may include any/all of the following: preparation of design fee estimates, monitoring progress against budget and schedule, management of project changes, and implementation of Quality Control requirements.


Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (or related field) , and typically 10+ years of related work experience. Professional Engineer registration may be required.
  • Proficiency with use of non-structural software packages such as Bluebeam, ProjectWise, AutoCAD, and Revit
  • Proficiency with use of structural analysis software such as RISA 3D, STAADPro, or SAP 2000.
  • Familiarity with the latest editions of the International Building Code, ASCE 7, ACI 318, AISC Steel Construction Manual, ACI 53

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master of Engineering or Master of Science from an ABET accredited Structural Engineering program and 10+ years of related work experience.

Salary Range: $86,700.00 - $151,700.00
