Job Description:

Senior BIM Specialist - ITS

Abu Dhabi, UAE

Parsons is looking for a Senior BIM Specialist – ITS to join our team! In this role, you will develop and maintain detailed BIM models for Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) and associated dry utilities infrastructure, ensuring alignment with engineering requirements, project precision, and applicable standards. You will perform a wide variety of advanced modeling and analysis activities to complete complex assignments while ensuring project deliverables are met.

What You'll Be Doing

• Providing input to the task leads to the development of the BIM implementation baseline schedule at the start of any task.
• Utilizing BIM-related software to develop, manage, and maintain digital models for ITS and dry utilities infrastructure.
• Leading the preparation, review, and execution of BIM implementation/management plans at the program/project level.
• Assessing and confirming BIM accessibility and data accuracy through regular quality reviews/checks.
• Completing model assurance reports and drafting special provisions and procurement inputs for digital uses.
• Reviewing models for compliance with project standards and requirements, with oversight where required.
• Providing input to clients and other stakeholders working on the same project and assisting the team in responding to client queries and requests.
• Assisting in the development of BIM Execution Plans (BEP), including standards, methods, and procedures.
• Collaborating with multidisciplinary project teams to ensure effective model integration (e.g., ITS, roads, structures, utilities).
• Interfacing regularly with other departments on matters relating to BIM work assignments.
• Providing technical guidance and training to junior staff and checking the deliverables of equal-to or less experienced staff.
• Supporting the development of BIM training materials and, where required, acting in an advisory capacity to senior management and production staff on BIM-related matters.
• Performing other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.

What Required Skills You'll Bring

• Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Civil Engineering, Infrastructure, or a relevant discipline.
• 10 years of related work experience in BIM/modeling for infrastructure projects related to ITS and dry/wet utilities, or similar.
• Proficiency in relevant BIM and civil infrastructure software, such as Autodesk Civil 3D, InfraWorks, and Revit.
• Proficient in advanced core BIM software packages/workflows and related modeling principles and applications, with a primary focus on Autodesk Civil 3D.
• Advanced knowledge of engineering principles and the ability to apply these concepts to modeling assignments.
• Advanced knowledge of Common Data Environment (CDE) usage and management for model production.
• Advanced understanding of hardware and software used in CAD and BIM (including deployment processes, requirements, and troubleshooting).
• Good verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate modeling technical and non-technical subjects with management, engineering, and production staff.

What Desired Skills You'll Bring

• BIM-related certification from recognized providers is preferred.
• Awareness of key performance indicators (KPIs) and risk registers for digital production delivery, with the ability to generate basic reports.
• Understanding of how to perform basic capacity and capability assessments for task teams and model production.
• Ability to use and provide ongoing support in BIM and CDE systems.
• Understanding of Task Information Delivery Plan (TIDP) and Master Information Delivery Plan (MIDP) development and use.
• Proficiency in developing catalogues such as 2D symbology, families, parametric components, parts, and sub-assemblies.
• Understanding of Quality Assurance and Quality Control practices in the context of BIM production.
