We are seeking an experienced Scrum Master with a knack for optimizing teams and processes. The Scrum Master will facilitate the Agile Scrum process, coach the team on Scrum practices, and ensure the successful delivery of projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background in software development or DevOps engineering, excellent communication skills, and experience working in complex, cross-functional environments, particularly within a DoD context.

This position is located in Colorado Springs, CO and requires the individual to be on-site working in the office at least 3 days per week.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Facilitate Scrum ceremonies, including daily stand-ups, sprint planning, sprint reviews, and retrospectives, ensuring they are productive and aligned with program objectives.
  • Lead backlog refinement sessions to prioritize and clarify user stories, create and maintain epics, and organize tasks to ensure a well-structured and actionable product backlog in alignment with project goals.
  • Proactively manage and minimize the team's meeting load by streamlining discussions, consolidating agendas, and shielding the team from unnecessary engagements to maximize focused, heads-down work time.
  • Coach the team on Scrum principles and practices to optimize workflow and ensure effective implementation.
  • Identify and remove obstacles that hinder the team’s progress, coordinating with stakeholders to resolve dependencies or resource constraints.
  • Foster a collaborative environment where team members can share ideas, provide feedback, and work effectively together.
  • Monitor and report on sprint progress, including sprint goals and velocity, using Jira and Confluence.
  • Collaborate with the Product Owner and development team to ensure clear communication and alignment on project goals.
  • Support the integration of DevOps practices into the Scrum process, facilitating discussions around technical challenges and solutions.

Required Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or an engineering field with at least 5 years technical experience. Relevant experience may be accepted in place of a degree.
  • Solid understanding of DevSecOps principles and practices, including CI/CD pipelines and containerization.
  • Basic knowledge of Kubernetes is required; hands-on experience is a bonus.
  • 5+ years of experience with Agile methodologies, particularly Scrum, including facilitating ceremonies and managing backlogs.
  • Experience designing, developing, and supporting mission applications
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills for facilitating meetings, reporting progress, and engaging with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team environment with technical, security, and DoD stakeholders.
  • Experience with Jira and Confluence for project tracking and collaboration.
  • Must be a US citizen due to support to a DoD contract. Must have or be eligible to obtain a Secret security clearance.

Desired Skills

  • Certified Scrum Master (CSM), Advanced Certified Scrum Master (A-CSM) or Certified Scrum Professional Scrum Master (CSP-SM) certification.
  • Familiarity with DoD environments, ATOs, continuous ATO processes, and software factory pipelines.
  • Knowledge of GitOps, CI/CD pipelines, and container security practices.
  • Familiarity with AWS, particularly AWS GovCloud.

Salary Range: $86,700.00 - $151,700.00
