Job Description:

Parsons is seeking an experienced Rolling Stock Manager to lead rolling stock engineering, operations, and maintenance for a major freight rail infrastructure program.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Lead the management of all rolling stock activities, including procurement, commissioning, operations, maintenance, and lifecycle management.

  • Develop and implement rolling stock strategies, maintenance programs, and operational plans aligned with project schedules and performance targets.

  • Coordinate with engineering, systems, operations, maintenance, and depot teams to ensure rolling stock availability, reliability, and operational efficiency.

  • Oversee inspection, testing, and commissioning of rolling stock, including automated and diesel-based freight locomotives and wagons.

  • Ensure compliance with rail safety standards, technical specifications, and regulatory requirements for rolling stock operations.

  • Monitor rolling stock performance, manage KPIs, and implement corrective and preventive actions as needed.

  • Lead and mentor multidisciplinary rolling stock teams, including technical specialists, engineers, and depot staff.

  • Support integration with depot operations, maintenance planning, and network operational requirements.

  • Prepare reports, dashboards, and updates for senior management and key stakeholders.

  • Promote continuous improvement, safety culture, and operational excellence across all rolling stock functions.

What Required Skills You'll Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Rail Engineering, or related discipline.

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in rolling stock management, operations, or maintenance, including experience with multiple rolling stock types (automated, diesel freight locomotives, wagons, or similar).

  • Experience as a Rolling Stock Manager (or equivalent role) on at least one major rail project of comparable size and complexity.

  • Strong expertise in rolling stock lifecycle management, reliability engineering, and maintenance planning.

  • Knowledge of rail safety standards, operational procedures, and regulatory compliance.

  • Strong leadership, team management, and stakeholder coordination skills.

  • Proficiency in rolling stock maintenance management systems, planning tools, and reporting.
