Job Description:
Parsons is seeking an experienced Roads & Pavement Engineer to support the design review, construction supervision, quality control, and technical coordination of roads, airport landside road networks, airfield pavements, and associated civil infrastructure for a major Airport Development Project.
What You'll Be Doing
- Review pavement and roadway designs.
- Verify compliance with project requirements and international standards.
- Review geometric design, pavement structures, grading, and cross-sections.
- Review flexible and rigid pavement designs.
- Evaluate pavement thickness calculations and material specifications.
- Assess pavement performance and durability.
- Review contractor shop drawings and method statements.
- Conduct site inspections.
- Verify construction quality and compliance.
- Coordinate pavement interfaces with airfield systems and utilities.
- Review operational impacts during construction.
- Support phased construction planning.
- Coordinate with airport authorities, consultants, contractors, and government agencies.
- Support technical approvals.
- Monitor pavement testing.
- Review asphalt and concrete quality reports.
- Ensure compliance with project specifications.
- Prepare technical reports and engineering recommendations.
- Monitor progress and construction quality.
- Promote safe construction practices.
- Participate in risk assessments and constructability reviews.
What Required Skills You'll Bring
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering.
- Minimum 8 years in Roads and Pavement Engineering.
- Airport, highways, or transportation infrastructure experience.
- Construction supervision experience.
- Pavement design principles.
- Airport pavement standards.
- Material testing procedures.
- Civil engineering software.
- Strong coordination and reporting skills.
What Desired Skills You'll Bring:
- Professional Engineer registration.
- ICAO and FAA pavement experience.
- Knowledge of pavement management systems.
- Experience under FIDIC contracts.
