Job Description:

Parsons is anticipating the need for a Risk Manager to join our team and support on a complex infrastructure project on site in Dublin. In this role, you will lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of the risk management framework, ensuring proactive identification, assessment, and mitigation of risks across all phases of the project lifecycle.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Lead risk reporting to governance forums, support assurance activities, and provide specialist input on complex or emerging risk matters.

  • Develop, implement, and maintain risk management frameworks that align with programme objectives, regulatory obligations, and recognised international standards (e.g., ISO 31000).

  • Oversee the identification, assessment, and management of complex and emerging risks across the organisation.

  • Partner with executive leadership, delivery teams, and external stakeholders to embed risk-based decision-making throughout all stages of the project lifecycle.

  • Prepare and present high-level risk reports and insights for senior leadership, governance boards, and external regulators to promote transparency and accountability.

  • Design and deliver risk workshops and capability-building initiatives to strengthen organisational risk maturity.

  • Ensure risk management approaches remain compliant with changing legislation, standards, and internal policies, while driving continuous improvement.

  • Lead the development and governance of programme-wide risk registers, ensuring risks and mitigation actions are accurately recorded, escalated, and monitored.

  • Provide expert risk management advice and guidance to project teams and stakeholders.

  • Conduct regular risk assessments and audits to identify potential issues and improvement opportunities.

  • Work collaboratively across functions to ensure effective risk controls are embedded into daily operations.

  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

What Required Skills You'll Bring:

  • 10+ years of experience in risk management or project controls, with demonstrated experience on major infrastructure or construction projects.

  • Previous experience in a comparable risk management or project management role.

  • Experience developing complex risk models within a capital project environment.

  • Proficiency in risk tools such as @Risk, PRA, RiskHive, ARM, or equivalent platforms.

  • Knowledge of quality management and process improvement methodologies, ideally within construction or infrastructure environments.

  • Minimum Level 8 degree (or equivalent) in Project Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field.

What Desired Skills You'll Bring:

  • Strong project management capability.

  • Ability to effectively engage and manage relationships with clients, regulators, and internal stakeholders.

  • Familiarity with document management systems and software including Microsoft Office and SharePoint.

  • In-depth understanding of project management principles and best practices.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Proven ability to identify, evaluate, and mitigate project risks.

  • Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills, with the ability to influence both technical and non-technical audiences.

  • Highly developed analytical and organisational skills, with the ability to govern and drive outcomes.

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.

  • Completed or pursuing IRM Diploma or an equivalent risk management qualification.

Note: This position is contingent upon project award and future funding. This exciting new opportunity is planned to commence in Spring 2026.
