Job Description:
Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Requirements Lead to join our team! In this role you will lead the process of gathering and documenting all technical, operational, and stakeholder requirements for the airport infrastructure programme.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Work closely with clients, stakeholders, engineers, and architects to identify, analyze, and document detailed project requirements.
- Develop clear and concise requirement specifications and ensure that all requirements are traceable, verifiable, and aligned with project objectives.
- Analyze and prioritize requirements to ensure that they are feasible, aligned with project goals, and achievable within the project timeline and budget.
- Validate that all requirements are complete, unambiguous, and testable, with no conflicts or contradictions.
- Work with cross-functional teams to ensure that all requirements are realistic and can be implemented effectively in the context of the airport infrastructure.
- Act as the primary point of contact for all requirements-related discussions, ensuring clear and consistent communication between all stakeholders.
- Facilitate workshops, meetings, and presentations to engage stakeholders in defining and validating requirements.
- Address any questions, concerns, or issues related to requirements and provide timely resolutions.
- Establish and maintain a robust traceability matrix to track all requirements from inception through to project delivery.
- Ensure that requirements are effectively managed through change control processes, ensuring that any scope changes are clearly documented and communicated.
- Manage requirements reviews and approval processes, ensuring that all necessary stakeholders sign off on requirements at key milestones.
- Work closely with engineering, design, construction, and project management teams to ensure that all requirements are integrated into the project’s execution.
- Ensure that requirements are well-understood and incorporated into the design, procurement, and construction phases.
- Coordinate with quality assurance teams to ensure that requirements are tested and validated during the delivery phases of the project.
- Identify and mitigate risks related to requirements and their impact on the project.
- Proactively resolve any issues that arise from conflicting or incomplete requirements, ensuring that changes are documented and communicated.
- Collaborate with the project team to ensure that requirements are managed effectively and that any risk to project success is minimized.
- Provide regular updates to senior management and stakeholders on the status of requirements, including progress on documentation, validation, and traceability.
- Prepare and present comprehensive reports on the impact of requirements changes, resource needs, and potential risks.
- Maintain clear documentation of all requirements, changes, and approvals for audit and compliance purposes.
- Ensure that all requirements management processes adhere to quality standards and best practices.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives in requirements gathering, documentation, and management processes to enhance efficiency and quality across the programme.
- Implement tools and methodologies to automate and streamline requirements tracking, validation, and reporting.
What Required Skills You’ll Bring:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related technical field. A Master’s degree or relevant certifications (e.g., CBAP, IREB, PMP) is a plus.
- Minimum of 15 years of experience in requirements management, systems engineering, or project management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
- Proven experience in managing complex, large-scale infrastructure or construction projects, ideally within the airport or transportation sectors.
- Strong track record in gathering, validating, and managing technical and operational requirements across diverse teams.
- Expertise in requirements engineering processes, tools, and techniques (e.g., requirements traceability matrix, change management, requirements validation).
- Experience with systems integration, functional specifications, and managing cross-functional project teams.
- Familiarity with requirements management software (e.g., IBM Engineering Requirements Management, DOORS, JIRA).
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to analyze complex technical requirements and break them down into actionable deliverables.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, work under pressure, and meet deadlines.
- CBAP (Certified Business Analysis Professional) or equivalent certification in requirements engineering or business analysis.
- PMP (Project Management Professional) or equivalent project management certification.
- Knowledge of the airport infrastructure sector and familiarity with the specific technical and regulatory requirements for such projects is highly desirable.
- Experience in dealing with regulatory bodies and ensuring requirements are aligned with compliance standards.
- Experience with requirements management tools and systems (e.g., IBM DOORS, Jira, Confluence).
- Familiarity with BIM (Building Information Modeling) and other design and construction technologies is a plus.
