Job Description:
Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Reporting Lead to join our team! In this role you will get to oversee the development and delivery of accurate, timely, and insightful reports to support decision-making across the organization.
This role requires strong data analysis skills, proficiency in reporting tools, and the ability to present complex information in a clear and actionable manner. The Reporting Lead will play a key role in driving business performance through effective reporting and communication.
What You'll be Doing;
- Lead the creation and management of comprehensive reports, dashboards, and performance metrics for various departments, including project management, operations, and finance.
- Ensure the accurate compilation and analysis of data for weekly, monthly, quarterly, and ad-hoc reporting purposes.
- Design and automate reports to streamline the reporting process, making it more efficient and impactful.
- Analyze data from various sources to generate insights, identify trends, and highlight areas of improvement.
- Provide actionable recommendations based on reporting data to help drive business decisions and improve overall performance.
- Collaborate with different teams to ensure that reports are aligned with organizational objectives and accurately reflect operational performance.
- Prepare and present regular reports to senior leadership and other key stakeholders, providing a clear understanding of project progress, financial performance, and other key metrics.
- Tailor reports to meet the needs of different stakeholders, ensuring that the information is relevant, concise, and easy to interpret.
- Coordinate with internal teams to ensure that reporting requirements are met and provide guidance on report expectations.
- Continuously evaluate existing reporting processes and identify opportunities for improvement in data collection, analysis, and presentation.
- Implement best practices and standard operating procedures (SOPs) for reporting across the organization.
- Ensure that reporting processes are streamlined, accurate, and align with the company’s overall goals and strategies.
- Lead the integration and use of reporting tools and software (e.g., Microsoft Excel, Power BI, Tableau, etc.) to improve data visualization, reporting accuracy, and efficiency.
- Ensure that all relevant data is captured correctly within systems, collaborating with IT or systems teams as needed for integrations and upgrades.
- Manage the development of custom reports within reporting platforms and dashboards for easy access by stakeholders.
- Oversee the tracking and reporting of key performance indicators (KPIs) for ongoing projects and business operations.
- Monitor project timelines, budgets, and milestones to ensure they align with the reporting requirements.
- Provide insights on project performance, identifying any potential risks or deviations and working with relevant teams to address them.
- Lead and mentor a team of reporting analysts or specialists, providing training and guidance on best practices in reporting and data analysis.
- Foster a collaborative environment to ensure team members are aligned and focused on delivering high-quality reporting outputs.
- Ensure the team meets deadlines and maintains accuracy and consistency in all reporting deliverables.
- Ensure that all reports adhere to organizational standards, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.
- Perform quality checks on all reports before distribution to ensure accuracy, completeness, and consistency.
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive business information within reports and adhere to data protection protocols.
What Required Skills You'll Bring;
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, Data Analytics, or a related field. A Master’s degree is a plus.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a reporting, data analysis, or business intelligence role, with at least 2-3 years in a leadership capacity
- Experience in project management, financial, or operational reporting.
- Proven track record in data analysis, reporting process development, and presentation to senior management.
- Strong proficiency in data analysis and reporting tools (e.g., Microsoft Excel, Power BI, Tableau).
- In-depth understanding of key performance indicators (KPIs) and data visualization techniques.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present data to a wide range of stakeholders.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Certification in Business Analytics, Data Science, or Business Intelligence (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Power BI, Tableau Certification).
- Experience in advanced reporting tools (e.g., SQL, R, Python) for data manipulation and analysis.
- Experience in the use of project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Primavera) for reporting purposes.
- Ability to work cross-functionally with various departments to streamline reporting processes.
- Familiarity with financial reporting and cost management.
