Job Description:

Parsons are seeking a highly skilled Rail/BRT/ART  Project Engineer to support the planning, design, and implementation of rail systems/BRT/ART and wadi loop infrastructure.

This role requires technical expertise in civil engineering and transportation systems,  to design  and ensure the successful integration of rail systems / BRT /ART systems and wadi loops transit into large-scale infrastructure projects along the different Phases of the Project .

The ideal candidate will have experience working with railway/BRT/ART designs, infrastructure/superstructure coordination, working closely with the client as delivery partner, to ensure safe, efficient, and sustainable system development.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Lead the design and implementation of Railway/BRT/ART systems, including track alignment, station design, signaling, and associated infrastructure.
  • Develop detailed Rail/BRT/ART system layouts and integration plans in collaboration with architects, civil engineers, and other technical disciplines.
  • Oversee the construction and installation of Railway/BRT/ART  systems, ensuring compliance with project specifications, industry standards, and safety regulations.
  • Perform technical assessments for rail structures, including bridges, tunnels, embankments, and viaducts.
  • Ensure the operation and maintenance of Railway/BRT/ART  systems are efficiently integrated into the broader transportation network, facilitating long-term sustainability.
  • Design and implement wadi loop transit systems to manage water flow, prevent flooding, and integrate sustainable drainage solutions.
  • Analysis and perform hydrological studies and analysis to design drainage channels and structures, ensuring the wadi loops effectively manage stormwater and wadi flows.
  • Collaborate with environmental engineers to assess the environmental impact of drainage systems and ensure compliance with local water management regulations.
  • Work closely with project managers, civil engineers, urban planners, and construction teams to ensure the rail and wadi loop systems align with the overall project design and goals.
  • Collaborate with local authorities, utility providers, and other stakeholders to ensure effective integration of rail and wadi systems within the existing infrastructure.
  • Address any issues related to the design or construction phase, and provide technical solutions to challenges that arise.
  • Identify potential risks associated with rail and wadi loop systems, including hydrological challenges, soil stability, and safety concerns, and develop risk mitigation strategies.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety standards and regulations for rail systems and water management.
  • Conduct site inspections and audits to monitor construction quality and ensure that systems meet the required safety standards.
  • Integrate the design of rail and wadi systems with other project systems (e.g., electrical, mechanical, civil) to ensure cohesive project execution.
  • Implement robust quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC) measures during design and construction phases to ensure all systems meet the required technical specifications.
  • Review and approve design documents, blueprints, and technical drawings related to rail and wadi systems.
  • Ensure that rail and wadi loop transit system are designed and implemented with a focus on environmental sustainability and compliance with environmental regulations.
  • Apply best practices in sustainable design and green engineering to minimize environmental footprints.
  • Collaborate with the construction team to ensure the systems are completed on schedule and within budget.
  • Support the handover process, ensuring that operation and maintenance manuals are provided, and all systems are fully functional before final project delivery.
  • Provide regular updates and reports to project managers and senior leadership on the progress of rail/BRT/ART and wadi loop design and construction.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation related to design modifications, testing results, regulatory approvals, and final as-built designs.
  • Ensure all design and construction activities are well-documented and aligned with project requirements and safety standards.

What Required Skills You’ll Bring:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering, Transportation Engineering, or a related field.
  • Certification in Railway/BFRT/ART Engineering is a plus.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in railway/BRT/ART system design, with a focus on large-scale infrastructure or transportation projects.
  • Proven expertise in railway/BRT/ART construction, including drainage and flood control systems.
  • Strong technical knowledge of rail/BRT/ART systems (e.g., track alignment, signaling systems, station design) and wadi loop design.
  • Knowledge of civil design software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Revit,
  • Understanding of railway/BRT/ART safety standards, drainage regulations is a plus, and environmental compliance.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple design components and coordinate with diverse project teams.
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills, capable of addressing technical issues and collaborating effectively across teams.
  • Chartered Engineer or equivalent professional engineering certification.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or similar.
  • Experience in large infrastructure projects involving rail/BRT/ART systems, stormwater management, or transportation infrastructure (e.g., metro systems, highways, airport rail connections).
  • Familiarity with BIM (Building Information Modeling) and its integration into infrastructure design.
  • Understanding of advanced geotechnical engineering principles in relation to rail and water systems.
