Job Description:

Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Radar Systems Engineer to join our team! In this role you will utilize your experience in developing, acquiring and fielding hardware for radar sensor systems for detecting and tracking threat missiles.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Provide Line Replaceable Unit (LRU) and site infrastructure Hardware and power equipment/switching subject matter expertise for a Aegis Adaptations (ABZ) radar. 
  • Support requirements development and traceability, system/subsystem design, schematic development and reviews, performance assessments, power studies and analysis, test, evaluation, and verification, hardware acceptance testing and installation oversite.
  • Support Failure Review Board (FRB) and Corrective Action execution. 
  • Support obsolescence management activity. 
  • Produce, review and manage engineering documents. Prepare technical and position papers, engineering briefs, schedules and risk management documents. 
  • Develop program plans, plan of action and milestone (POA&M) recommendations, and prepare executive level briefing packages and formal documentation. Prepare alternative courses of action analyses and executive level results presentations. 
  • Interface with internal and external project stakeholders; FMS Weapon System Program Office, FMS Case Management Division, USACE, Foreign Liaison Officer, and industry partners. Coordinate and manage project activities across other government agencies (OGAs). 
  • Assist with the identification and resolution of complex technical issues, as well as provide potential solutions to senior members of the Project Offices, MDA, Combatant Command, and Partner Nation as it pertains to the radar production, system integration and check-out (SICO), deployment, emplacement, and tactical site operations. 
  • Apply disciplined systems engineering practices, identify and resolve complex problems associated with technical performance requirements, systems integration, and performance. 
  • Travel (25%) to prime contractor facility, test ranges, and foreign weapon site locatons. 

What Required Skills You'll Bring:

  • Master's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math
  • 12+ years working on missile defense-related or other complex, large DoD program/project.
  • Active Secret Clearance or higher required.
  • Experience in power distribution system design and implementation.
  • Knowledge of Electrical engineering analyses, such as power loading, power quality analysis, thermal output, and authoring reports documenting them.
  • Experience with problem-solving skills to rapidly address issues identified during production and installation.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work with developers and engineering teams.
  • Ability presenting complex information and concepts to Leaders at various levels.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office® applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Critical thinking and problem solving skills and capable of guiding teams of subject matter experts, Prime Contractors, and operational stakeholders.

  • Working knowledge of MDA Systems Engineering processes and procedures. 
  • Working knowledge of MDA organizational structure. 
  • Working knowledge of Missile Defense System (MDS) architecture and concepts.

Security Clearance Requirement:

An active Secret security clearance is required for this position.​

Salary Range: $134,100.00 - $241,400.00
