Job Description:
Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented PROJECT MANAGER to join our team! In this role you will get to lead and manage small to medium-sized projects, ensuring successful delivery on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with contractual, quality, and safety requirements.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Direct, supervise, and control all business, technical, fiscal, and administrative aspects of assigned projects.
- Develop project goals, execution strategies, budgets, schedules, staffing plans, and management plans.
- Manage project scope, cost, schedule, profitability, quality, and contractual obligations.
- Forecast monthly revenue, labor costs, other direct costs, and gross profit throughout the project lifecycle.
- Oversee project invoicing, billing, accounts receivable, and accounts payable activities.
- Establish and maintain the Project Management Plan, Health and Safety Plan, Quality Assurance/Quality Control Plan, and other required project documentation.
- Monitor project deliverables to ensure compliance with client requirements, contract terms, and established quality standards.
- Assign responsibilities to project team members based on their qualifications, experience, and strengths.
- Monitor, negotiate, and manage changes to the project scope with clients, subcontractors, and subconsultants.
- Maintain accurate and timely change orders and advise management and clients of significant project changes.
- Develop corrective action plans to address potential cost overruns, schedule delays, and scope changes.
- Monitor project progress, key milestones, costs, schedules, risks, and conditions affecting project performance.
- Serve as the Company representative with clients, subcontractors, subconsultants, regulatory agencies, and other stakeholders.
- Establish and lead weekly project status meetings, track action items, and communicate project updates.
- Maintain strong client relationships and identify opportunities for additional work and business development.
- Participate in proposals, client meetings, presentations, marketing events, conferences, and professional organizations.
- Support employee performance management, recognition, career development, staffing, and training activities.
- Collaborate with managers, project engineers, discipline leads, and facilities staff to support project execution.
- Perform other responsibilities associated with the position as appropriate.
What Required Skills You'll Bring:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical or business field.
- Minimum of 10 years of related project management experience.
- Broad technical and business background with experience managing complex projects.
- Ability to meet Parsons’ project management certification requirements.
- Demonstrated experience managing project budgets, schedules, scope, contracts, and profitability.
- Effective leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Thorough knowledge of industry practices, standards, regulations, and project controls.
- Knowledge of current project management technologies and their effective application.
- Experience managing client relationships, subcontractors, subconsultants, and government agencies.
- Ability to identify, evaluate, and resolve project risks, cost issues, schedule delays, and scope changes.
- Professional registration may be required.
What Desired Skills You'll Bring:
- Experience managing projects with a total installed cost of up to $50 million.
- Professional Engineer license or other relevant professional registration.
- Parsons project management certification or equivalent certification.
- Strong commercial, financial, forecasting, invoicing, and change management experience.
- Experience developing and implementing project management, safety, quality, and execution plans.
- Proven ability to secure additional work and support business development initiatives.
- Experience working with regulatory agencies and participating in public meetings.
- Strong negotiation, problem-solving, decision-making, and conflict-resolution skills.
- Experience developing career plans, coordinating training, and managing employee performance.
- Active participation in professional organizations, conferences, technical presentations, and industry networking events.
- Ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams, senior leadership, clients, and external stakeholders.
