Job Description:
Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Project Controls Manager to join our team! In this role you will get to ensure that projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.
This position requires a blend of technical expertise in project scheduling, cost control, risk management, and reporting, combined with excellent leadership and communication skills. The Project Controls Manager will be a strategic partner to project teams, ensuring the effective execution of all projects and driving continuous improvements in project controls processes.

What You'll be Doing;
- Develop and manage comprehensive project schedules, ensuring that all activities are planned and tracked against key milestones and deadlines.
- Work with project teams to allocate resources, define scope, and establish clear deliverables for each project phase.
- Monitor project progress and make adjustments as necessary to ensure the project stays on track.
- Oversee the development of project budgets and ensure financial control over project expenditures.
- Track costs throughout the project lifecycle and provide forecasts to ensure the project remains within budget.
- Review project financials, identify discrepancies, and work with finance teams to address issues and implement corrective actions.
- Identify potential risks or issues impacting project schedules, costs, or resources, and develop strategies to mitigate those risks.
- Implement and track risk mitigation plans, ensuring that any issues are addressed before they impact the overall project.
- Collaborate with project managers and stakeholders to continuously assess project risks.
- Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) for project control metrics such as schedule performance index (SPI) and cost performance index (CPI).
- Prepare and deliver regular reports to senior management on project performance, including progress, risks, and any corrective actions being taken.
- Maintain accurate records and provide periodic updates on project status, highlighting potential delays or cost overruns.
- Work with project managers, engineers, and contractors to ensure that project controls systems are integrated across teams and that all stakeholders are aligned.
- Maintain regular communication with internal teams, vendors, and clients to ensure transparency on project progress and timelines.
- Participate in project meetings, providing updates on project controls, risks, and any necessary changes.
- Develop and implement project controls processes and best practices to optimize project delivery.
- Lead continuous improvement efforts within the project management team by identifying areas for efficiency gains and recommending solutions.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior project controls staff and contribute to training initiatives.
- Manage changes to the scope, schedule, and costs of the project in collaboration with the project manager and senior leadership.
- Ensure that all changes are tracked and documented accurately, with appropriate approvals and updates made to project plans and budgets.
- Assess the impact of changes on project timelines and costs, providing recommendations for corrective actions.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, regulatory standards, and industry best practices throughout the project lifecycle.
- Maintain and organize project documentation related to project control processes, budgets, schedules, and reports.
- Conduct audits and reviews of project documentation to ensure accuracy and compliance.
What Required Skills You'll Bring;
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, or a related field. A Master’s degree or professional certifications (e.g., PMP, AACE) is a plus.
- Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in project controls, planning, and scheduling, with at least 3 years in a management or leadership role
- Proven track record of managing large, complex projects, with a focus on cost control, scheduling, and risk management
- Strong experience with project controls software (e.g., Primavera P6, MS Project, or similar tools).
- Strong knowledge of project management principles, project controls methodologies, and industry standards
- In-depth understanding of budgeting, cost estimation, and financial management for large projects
- Expertise in risk management, resource management, and performance tracking
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and other project management tools
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Certification in project management (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2) or project controls (e.g., AACE).
- Experience with advanced project controls software and tools.
- Experience in managing projects within specific industries (e.g., construction, oil & gas, engineering).
- Strong leadership abilities with experience in managing teams and driving performance improvements.
- Ability to work under pressure and adapt to changing project demands.
