Job Description:

Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Program/Project Assistant to join our team! In this role you will get to support several senior leaders and perform administrative tasks to effectively support Parsons’ Environmental Programs.  The Environmental Program Assistant will support the planning, implementation, and monitoring of environmental programs and initiatives.

This role involves administrative tasks, fieldwork, and community engagement to ensure the success of our environmental projects.

Some experience in the environmental field is strongly preferred!!
 
What You'll Be Doing:

  • Prepares meeting minutes/agendas, takes actions/notes, presentations/slides, project action trackers and provides routine administrative support to the program leadership.
  • Schedules meetings and supports execution of meetings including materials for meeting and tracking of meeting minutes and action items.
  • Establishes and maintains calendar of events and scheduling. 
  • Ships and receives supplies and equipment as needed, including assistance in billing of equipment and invoice processing.
  • Maintains detailed record of expenses and record keeping.
  • Establishes guidelines and procedures; anticipates where problem areas may arise; evaluates alternative methods of accomplishing tasks and meeting goals; and initiates suitable action.
  • Keeps manager informed of all pertinent action/pending action. Has some latitude for speaking for the manager at such meetings.
  • Maintains a SharePoint site.
  • Provides analytical and administrative support to environmental and energy programs and projects. 
  • Provides Quality Control by reviewing and editing technical documents.
  • Maintains Microsoft Excel project tracking logs.
  • Establishes and maintains document archiving and retrieval systems, prioritizing the flow of project reports/correspondence and ensuring timeliness in the handling, processing, and resolution of requests, requirements, or problems.
  • Assists on an as-needed basis with checking on field work, and tracking things such as the collection of environmental samples (groundwater, surface water, soils)

What Required Skills You'll Bring:

  • High School Diploma required (or equivalent)
  • Bachelor's Degree preferred or 2-year degree  in Business Administration (or equivalent) and 5 years of experience in an administrative capacity
  • Possess and demonstrate strong professionalism with the ability to consistently demonstrate tact and maturity through the use of strong interpersonal and/or soft skills, and office etiquette for presentation of a professional "front office" demeanor at all times. 
  • Strong written and oral communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills are required.
  • Strong collaboration skills that foster office unity and cohesiveness in support of completing administrative requirements.
  • Experience using MS Office software applications (i.e., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook: Mail, Calendar, Sharepoint and MS Teams) with the ability to independently use these applications to efficiently complete office administrative tasks.
  • Strong working knowledge of office information technology (IT) equipment (e.g., copiers, scanners, computer workstations, phones, teleconference/video teleconference equipment) with the ability to independently operate such equipment in completing administrative tasks.
  • Possess and demonstrate the ability to self-start, set priorities, and work both independently and within a team environment under deadlines.

Salary Range: $26.25 - $45.96
