Principal Landscape Architect

Doha, Qatar

Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Principal Landscape Architect to join our team! In this role you will get to lead the design of both hard and soft landscape for architectural and urban design projects.

What You'll Be Doing:

• Able to demonstrate ability to lead a team throughout all stages of the design process and undertake the above responsibilities with minimal supervision.

• Assists with performing a wide variety of conventional and complex assignments by applying landscape irrigation design standards, practices, and techniques which require a fundamental knowledge of landscape, planting and primarily irrigation design.

• The incumbent at this level is required to regularly exercise discretion and independent judgment in developing original designs and is proficient in the utilization of standard landscape irrigation techniques.

• Performs a variety of assignments such as conducting landscape irrigation studies, developing design concepts, design criteria, and preparing related reports. Able to manage sensitive and sometimes confidential information.

• Develops design solutions and prepares high quality presentation drawings with the assistance of other team members.

• Provides technical guidance to CADD Designer/Drafters working on the same project.

• Prepares grading plans from concept design, preliminary design, detailed design and IFC drawings.

• Identifies vendors and solutions for street furniture and accessories for public realm.

• Prepares various design and technical reports, submissions, and responses to client comments.

• Prepares technical packages from concept design, through detailed design to tender and contract documentation.

• Prepares construction specifications for landscape softscape, hardscape, furniture and accessories.

• Prepares and conducts presentations to clients and various government agencies for approval.

• Provides leadership, support and production assistance to team members.

• Performs quality assurance, quality control and enforcement of standards, policies and procedures.

• Calculates manpower requirements and level of effort for each stage of the project.

• Completes other duties as assigned.

What Required Skills You'll Bring:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Landscape Architecture required.

• A minimum of 15 years’ experience in landscape architecture, preferably with work experience in the GCC.

• Professional Licensed Landscape Architect (active status) is required.

• ASLA Member.

• MMUP/UPDA Certification or ability to obtain is necessary.

• Proficiency in Adobe InDesign is required.

• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, Adobe Photoshop, Land F/X, Lumion and Illustrator.

• Knowledge of 3DS Max and V-Ray is essential.

• Experience in ACC platform.

• Excellent spoken and written English language is necessary.
