Job Description:

Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented People Moving Systems Engineer to join our team! In this role you will get to designs, integrates, and maintains systems like escalators, elevators, and moving walkways, ensuring their safety, efficiency, and compliance with industry standards and client requirements.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Designs, develops, and integrates people moving systems, including escalators, elevators, and moving walkways, ensuring they meet project specifications, safety codes, and performance standards.

• Collaborates with architects, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth integration of people moving systems into building designs and infrastructure.

• Conducts feasibility studies and performance analyses to determine the most efficient and cost-effective solutions for people movement.

• Prepares technical documentation, including design calculations, drawings, and specifications, for people moving systems.

• Oversees the installation, testing, and commissioning of people moving systems, ensuring proper operation and compliance with safety regulations.

• Provides technical guidance and support to project teams, contractors, and clients throughout the design and installation phases.

• Monitors and evaluates the performance of installed systems, identifying areas for improvement and optimization.

• Ensures compliance with local, national, and international safety standards, regulations, and building codes in all projects.

• Conducts site inspections and troubleshooting of people moving systems to resolve any operational issues or safety concerns.

• Keeps up to date with the latest technologies, trends, and industry best practices related to people moving systems.

• Performs other duties related to the design, implementation, and maintenance of people moving systems.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Systems Engineering or a related field

• Minimum 5+ years of experience in the design and integration of people moving systems

• Certification or licensure in relevant engineering fields preferred

SKILLS/COMPETENCIES:

• In-depth knowledge of people moving systems design, including escalators, elevators, and moving walkways

• Proficiency in relevant design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, BIM) and MS Office Suite

• Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills

• Ability to manage multiple projects and ensure safety and efficiency in design and installation

• Knowledge of industry standards, safety codes, and regulatory requirements for people moving systems
