Job Description:
Parsons is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented MEP Engineer to join our talented team. The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise in the design, installation, and maintenance of Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) systems for industrial and manufacturing projects. As an MEP Engineer, you will work closely with senior engineers and designers to provide high-quality, efficient, and safe MEP systems tailored to client needs, while adhering to industry standards and safety regulations.
The successful candidate will bring expertise in industrial environments and contribute to the successful delivery of a wide range of challenging projects.
What You'll Be Doing:
Assist in the design and implementation of MEP systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, etc.) for industrial and manufacturing facilities.
Create detailed technical drawings, calculations, and specifications for MEP systems.
Conduct system sizing, load calculations, and equipment selection in compliance with industry codes and standards.
Collaborate with other engineering disciplines (structural, civil, architectural) to ensure seamless integration of MEP systems into the overall project design.
Participate in project coordination meetings to align designs with project objectives and client requirements.
Ensure all MEP designs meet relevant industry standards, safety codes, and regulatory requirements (e.g., ASHRAE, NEC, NFPA, etc.).
Review project designs and documentation to ensure accuracy, completeness, and quality.
Conduct quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC) checks on all deliverables, ensuring compliance with established standards.
Support project managers in tracking project timelines, budgets, and deliverables.
Assist in the preparation of progress reports for clients and stakeholders, highlighting key milestones and potential challenges.
Identify and resolve technical issues related to MEP design during the construction phase.
Act as a technical point of contact for clients, providing engineering advice and solutions related to MEP systems.
Assist in presenting technical designs and proposals to clients during design reviews and meetings.
Ensure client expectations are met, and provide updates as required.
Stay current with the latest trends, technologies, and innovations in MEP systems and industrial design.
Participate in ongoing professional development and certifications to enhance technical skills and knowledge.
Provide input into the development and improvement of internal design processes and practices.
Work effectively in a multidisciplinary team, collaborating with other engineers, designers, and construction professionals.
Provide guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and design team members as needed.
What Required Skills You'll Bring:
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
Relevant certifications and professional registrations (e.g., LEED, PE) are a plus.
A minimum of 5 years of experience in MEP design, with a focus on industrial or manufacturing facilities.
Experience with large-scale projects in the industrial and manufacturing sectors is preferred.
Familiarity with MEP systems integration and coordination in complex building projects.
What Desired Skills You'll Bring:
Expertise in AutoCAD, Revit, and other relevant design software.
Strong knowledge of industry codes and standards (e.g., ASHRAE, NFPA, NEC, etc.).

Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery and client satisfaction.
