Job Description:
Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Materials Engineer to join our team in NEOM. Parsons is providing Project Management Consultancy (PMC) services for the development of NEOM Infrastructure in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. NEOM is a planned cross-border city in the Tabuk Province of northwestern Saudi Arabia. The site is near the Red Sea and the borders of Egypt and Jordan. It will cover a total area of 26,500 km2 (10,200 sq mi) and will extend 460 km along the coast of the Red Sea.

What You'll Be Doing:
Research and analyze potential materials for projects based on various factors like cost, performance, availability, and sustainability.
Evaluate material properties and characteristics to ensure they meet project specifications and design requirements.
Develop and implement material testing plans to assess conformity to established standards.
Prepare specifications and quality control procedures for material procurement and installation.
Participate in project planning and budgeting related to materials.
Contribute to sustainable construction practices by seeking environmentally friendly materials and optimizing resource usage.
Participate in professional development activities to stay current with industry trends and best practices.
Participate in final inspections and ensure all materials meet contractual requirements. Analyze field performance data of materials and recommend improvements for future projects.
Contribute to project documentation and reports related to material selection and performance.
Inspect incoming materials for compliance with specifications and conduct on-site testing when necessary.
Monitor material storage and handling practices to prevent damage or deterioration. Investigate and address any material-related issues or non-conformances identified during construction.
Provide technical advice and support to other engineers, contractors, and construction personnel regarding material selection and usage.
Maintain accurate records of material testing results and inspections.
What Required Skills You'll Bring:
Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering
Minimum 10 years of engineering experience
In-depth knowledge and experience in:
concrete mix specifications, suitability and compliance requirements
precast and prestressed concrete design, manufacturing and installation;
structural steel, connection, welding, paint, corrosion requirements
concrete repair and durability;
water/weather proofing and sealing design and material specification; epoxy, grouting and adhesive materials;
road design, construction and specification; asphalt pavement mix design, assessment and maintenance;
Construction material testing procedures and laboratory data interpretation; and sustainable construction materials and methods.
Familiarity and good understanding of ACI, AISC, ASTM, ASCE, AASHTO and standards for concrete, steel, pavement and civil materials
Excellent communication, presentation, interpersonal and networking skills
