Materials Engineer

Abu Dhabi, UAE

Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Materials Engineer to join our team! In this role you will get to coordinate the work and recordkeeping of the materials testing laboratory and is responsible to the RE.

What You'll Be Doing:

Principal responsibilities of the Materials Engineer are as follows:

• Provide field testing setup, organization, maintenance, and operation.

• Supervise staff assistants performing sampling of materials and coordinate with the testing laboratory.

• Participate in sampling, monitor testing, recordkeeping, and reporting in accordance with Owners Policy and Procedures Directives.

• Materials Testing Manual.

• AASHTO Standard Methods of Sampling and Testing.

• Construction Supervision Manual.

• Project Plans and Specifications.

• Construction Supervision Directives

• Copy all test results to the Resident Engineer and Contractor.

• Report any failing or "borderline" test results immediately to the Resident Engineer. Monitor and document the remedial action taken to meet specifications.

• Coordinate with the Inspector in charge of the work to confirm approval of the work for testing and discuss areas of concern.

• Coordinate with the Contractor on work priorities and schedules.

• Perform sampling and testing as quickly and efficient as possible to avoid undue delay to the Contractor's operations.

• Perform regular checks of material delivered to the project for conformance with the approved source or supplier.

• Maintain neat accurate records.

  Monitor the frequency and number of tests required for every operation.

What Required Skills You'll Bring:

• At least a Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering from a recognized Univerisity.

• Minimum 10+ years of relevant work experience.

• Proven experience with Infrastrure projects.
