Job Description:

We are seeking a highly organized and experienced Logistics Lead to manage and oversee the logistics operations for the project. The Logistics Lead will be responsible for coordinating the transportation, storage, and distribution of goods and materials to ensure the timely delivery and efficient movement of resources. This role requires strong leadership, problem-solving, and logistical planning skills to optimize the supply chain and meet project timelines and goals.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Develop and implement detailed logistics plans for the movement of materials and equipment across multiple locations.

  • Coordinate with internal teams, suppliers, and contractors to ensure the timely and efficient delivery of goods and services.

  • Oversee and optimize transportation routes, schedules, and delivery systems to minimize costs and delays.

  • Manage the supply chain process, from procurement to final delivery, ensuring materials and equipment are available when needed.

  • Work closely with project managers and procurement teams to ensure materials are sourced, tracked, and delivered on schedule.

  • Identify potential supply chain issues and implement solutions to prevent delays and disruptions.

  • Oversee inventory management processes, including the tracking and storing of materials and equipment.

  • Ensure proper storage and handling of materials to prevent damage and loss.

  • Maintain accurate records of inventory levels, material usage, and transportation schedules.

  • Establish and maintain relationships with vendors, suppliers, and third-party logistics providers.

  • Negotiate contracts and terms with suppliers to ensure cost-effective solutions and timely deliveries.

  • Monitor vendor performance, ensuring that quality standards and delivery timelines are met.

  • Develop and manage the logistics budget, ensuring that costs are controlled and expenses remain within budget.

  • Analyze logistics expenses, identify cost-saving opportunities, and optimize logistics processes to reduce overhead.

  • Prepare and present regular cost reports to management, highlighting any potential budget overruns.

  • Proactively identify and mitigate risks in the logistics process, including delays, transportation issues, and supply shortages.

  • Handle any logistics-related issues or emergencies, providing quick and effective solutions to ensure minimal disruption to the project.

  • Collaborate with project teams to resolve any logistical challenges that may arise.

  • Lead and mentor a team of logistics professionals, providing guidance, training, and performance reviews.

  • Delegate tasks and responsibilities to team members, ensuring that all logistical operations are executed efficiently.

  • Foster a culture of teamwork, safety, and continuous improvement within the logistics department.

  • Ensure that all logistics activities comply with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards.

  • Oversee safety protocols related to the transportation and storage of materials and equipment.

  • Conduct regular audits and inspections to ensure compliance with safety and regulatory requirements.

What Required Skills You’ll Bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.

  • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in logistics management or supply chain coordination, with at least 2-3 years in a leadership role.

  • Proven track record in managing large-scale logistics operations, including transportation, inventory, and warehouse management.

  • Experience with logistics software and systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or other logistics management tools).

  • Strong knowledge of logistics, supply chain management, and transportation best practices.

  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously, prioritizing effectively.

  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).

What Desired Skills You’ll Bring:

  • Certification in Logistics or Supply Chain Management (e.g., APICS, Six Sigma, or other relevant certifications).

  • Experience with international logistics and customs regulations.

  • Knowledge of project management principles and their application in logistics operations.

  • Familiarity with risk management and mitigation strategies within logistics operations.

  • Understanding of budget management and cost control within a logistics context.
