  • Coordinate with project management, design teams, and other disciplines to ensure structural requirements are met and construction progresses smoothly.

Structural Installation and Construction Support:

Coordination and Communication:

  • Serve as the main point of contact between the project team and on-site construction teams for all structural-related matters.

  • Facilitate communication and coordination among various stakeholders, including design teams, project managers, contractors, and subcontractors.

  • Review and approve as-built drawings, change orders, and other documentation as required.

Problem Solving and Technical Support:

  • Provide technical support in addressing any structural design or construction issues that arise on-site.

  • Work with design teams to resolve discrepancies between design and field conditions, ensuring timely solutions to prevent project delays.

  • Troubleshoot and provide solutions for structural issues encountered during construction, maintaining project quality and safety standards.

Safety Management:

  • Ensure that all structural work is performed in compliance with safety regulations, including OSHA and local site-specific safety protocols.

  • Promote and enforce safety procedures, conduct regular safety meetings, and perform safety audits to minimize risks during construction.

  • Monitor field conditions to ensure that work is carried out safely and in accordance with best practices.

Documentation and Reporting:

  • Prepare and maintain detailed reports on field activities, including site observations, inspections, and any issues encountered.

  • Ensure all construction activities are properly documented, and all required reports (e.g., field reports, RFIs, change orders) are submitted on time.

  • Track and report on the progress of structural work, highlighting any delays, risks, or issues that need resolution.

Training and Mentoring:

  • Mentor and train junior engineers and field staff on construction best practices, safety standards, and technical aspects of structural engineering.

  • Ensure the development of a high-performing field engineering team by providing leadership, guidance, and career development opportunities.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Civil/Structural Engineering, or a related field. Master’s degree is a plus.

  • Experience:

    • Minimum of 10 years of experience in structural engineering, with at least 5 years in a field engineering or construction management role, preferably in large-scale airport or infrastructure projects.

    • Proven experience in overseeing structural construction activities, including steel and concrete structures, foundations, and complex infrastructure systems.

  • Skills & Knowledge:

    • In-depth knowledge of structural design, construction, and quality control processes.

    • Strong understanding of structural codes and standards (e.g., AISC, ACI, Eurocodes, or local standards).

    • Proficiency in reviewing structural drawings, specifications, and as-built drawings.

    • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make quick, effective decisions on-site.

    • Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across teams.

    • Familiarity with construction management software, project management tools, and document control systems.

    • Ability to interpret technical reports, including site tests, structural analysis, and inspection results.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Professional Engineering (PE) license or Chartered Engineer status.

  • Knowledge of airport-specific structural requirements and standards.

  • Experience with advanced software tools such as AutoCAD, Revit, or structural analysis programs (e.g., STAAD, SAP2000).
