Job Description:

Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Lead Engineer – MEP to join our team! In this role you will be responsible for overseeing the design, implementation, and management of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems within construction projects. This role involves coordinating with project teams, ensuring compliance with industry standards, and optimizing system performance. The Lead Engineer will work closely with architects, contractors, and other stakeholders to deliver high-quality MEP solutions.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Reporting to the Project Director, the Lead Engineer – MEP will have responsibility for the review of requirements associated with PMC role to provide drawings reviews.

  • Work in close coordination with the Lead Designer and/or Design Director and others, lead and direct the efficient, professional analysis, synthesis, and recommendation of conceptual design alternatives to establish, communicate and sell the design vision for landscape architectural design projects.

  • Lead the design and planning of MEP systems, ensuring they meet project requirements and industry standards.

  • Oversee the installation and commissioning of MEP systems, ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget.

  • Collaborate with architects, contractors, and other stakeholders to integrate MEP systems seamlessly into the overall project design.

  • Implement quality control measures to ensure the reliability and efficiency of MEP systems.

  • Ensure all MEP systems comply with relevant codes, regulations, and safety standards.

  • Identify and resolve technical issues related to MEP systems.

  • Prepare and maintain detailed documentation, including design specifications, project plans, and progress reports.

  • Manage and mentor the MEP engineering team, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.

  • Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies, and incorporate innovative solutions into projects.

  • Plan, program and delegate within the team structure and participate in workflow reporting and planning.

  • Provide high level liaison with Clients and Client’s representatives.

  • Ensure quality and timely delivery of design review deliverables in accordance with the agreed schedule and plan

  • Participate in technical reviews and progress reporting and liaising with internal clients.

  • Adhere to Health and Safety and Quality measures and associated policies.

  • Provide design advice, reports, and liaise with all internal departments as required.

  • Coordinate assignments between the interfacing department teams as required, Communicate and liaise with all project personnel in a professional manner.

  • Assist in the preparation of responses to all design related requests for clarification sent by the Contractor

What Required Skills You'll Bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field. A Master’s degree or professional certification (e.g., PE, LEED) is preferred.

  • Minimum 18 years’ experience in large-scale projects including having overall responsibility for MEP on large-scale projects and infrastructure projects

  • Knowledge of MEP design, production techniques, codes and standards, building materials, and construction methods.

  • Expertise must have been gained from working for reputed firms.

  • Knowledge of precedents in the specialty area and knowledge of principles and practices of related engineering design methods and systems.

  • Knowledge of the building industry, regulatory standards and design criteria pertinent to architectural work.

  • Demonstrated leadership skills.

  • Knowledge of international procedures, design guides, automated and administrative practices.

  • Knowledge of major Design tools and applications for his discipline
